My stuff is good to go. But it's real safe here. I would hate to be in lower LA.

Yep, not the only one.  Something all of us have common.  We can not resist the need/desire to be well prepared.

another thing to check is your chemlites. they DO have expiration dates!

and instead of sleeping bags think about a poncho/pomcho liner instead. much smaller package and more flexible.

Hmmmm, when I got home from work last night I felt the urge to completely disassemble and clean my trunk gun. Oddly enough, when I put it back in my trunk this morning I also felt the urge to add a few more mags and a box of Surefire batteries as well.

No good reason for my behavior, no Sir.

Good idea.

Did you fill your motor car with petrol? I don't know, but all of this stuff happening here in the USA could affect the world gasoline supply. I hope not but you can't really tell.

I did, found the extractor spring on the bolt of my M1 carbine broken in 4 pcs...

Good thing I had some of those Wolff springs handy.

No more attention to the tools than usual. I am a little more thankful that I have them though. I am a little more thankful for my ammo stockpile. and my disaster supplies as well.

Yeah, my 10/22 and .38 are in tip top condition.

But then again so is my AR, and my PC9, and my G21 and my long range looter shooter.

GT
My maglite has new batteries in it too.

No, but I did empty, rinse and refill all of my 5 gallon water jugs.  'bout a teaspoon of bleach seems to do the trick for well over 6 months!

That and I compulsively purchased water filter #3!

I did not work the bolt on my AR15 several times while watching the news.

I did not turn on the red dot scope to make sure the batteries were fresh.

I did not load up a few extra magazines of pistol and rifle ammo.

At least that's what I'll tell anyone asking, cause I would have needed scuba gear to get to my guns anyway.

... Not really, I assess my emergency equipment rather frequently

... Other than gas prices jumping 0.20¢ overnight you would never know there was a national emergency going on from this vantage point sans the media

... My behavior is a little more conservatively now, kinda like the weeks following 9/11, but no real changes. Got quite a nice Labor Day weekend ahead of us

... Everything will be just fine

i try never to let it get below half a tank. not only in case i have to get somewhere but i hear it displaces any moisture that might get into the tank as well...

I went through the safe and after swapping a few parts (optics, uppers, etc), have three functioning ARs, plus a finicky 9mm AR and an unfired .45 AR.  There is also a 12ga and a Garand, all ready to go, plus various 7.63x39 rifles and some assorted pistols.

Then I checked the ammo supplies...  at least 1,500 rds of .223, 500+ rds 9mm, 250rds .30-06, 300rds .45, 250rds .44 mag, plus a bunch of .50 BMG in various flavors.

There's more, but I'm too lazy to type it all.

Basically, I have enough firearms and ammo to equip the whole block.

Yup, what he said...

I did ammo inventory and safe check yesterday. Also dropped off my FAL for refinish and barrel work  to my local gun guru. I miss it already. At least the "others" will comfort me.
