I hope this is what you are looking for. You were not very specific in your post. I like this brake alot. Not too loud and looks great.

Cavalry Arms also has those muzzle brakes. i saw about 300 of them when i was there two weeks ago.
my question is this: it is hard to tell the difference between these muzzle brakes and regular old flash supressors. do you think the gubment will harass shooters who have them? |

We all have our own lines drawn in the sand. The ATF or your state DOJ will get you if they want to regardless of what the law really is. This is a muzzle brake but if they want to make an issue of it you have to decide how hard to push back. No letter stating this is not a flash suppressor will help I don't think.

I know guys that are "Good Guys" that swaer by Kurt, so he can't be all bad, and he is probably a good guy one-on-one. I just think he needs to keep his nose to the grind stone and stick to doing what he's good at, and quite trying to do everything and anything gun related. He just needs to know his limitations and be more realistic. Just my $0.02 and everyone knows I'm a dumbass so take it with a grain of salt.... |

I got to see and shoot some of Garryowen's hardware over the weekend and it is top quality !!! His muzzle brake(cavcomp)looked for all the world like a A2 flashhider and fit and finish on both the comp and his rifles are first rate. I plan on adding one to my collection in the near future. Thanks for all of the info. Sounds like some people think his work is great, others think not. I am buying a mint condition Armalite M15A2 Carbine with a Kurts Kustom KKF A3 TacBrake installed. Since I have a digital camera, I will post some pics to share with you.

Dan0341...That's the kicker! I have seen some of his work and [b]it's beautiful![/b], It just seems like the work depends on what kind of day he's having. I like the way he cuts his ports, I think they look better then mine, but I kick mine out in lots of 1000 so I designed it with ease on manufacturing in mind (as well as cost).
Ed at Gunsmoke makes a nice comp that looks similar to mine and I think it looks a little better (he uses a different Parkerizing then I do and it gives it a nicer look) Ed also does installation for a fast and fair price. Ron Smith (Smith Enterprises) makes a whole line of Breaks and stuff, but he isn't a nice person. I also think his prices are too high for what you get. The Wilson Break is good and it looks nice, but again, the price is on the high side and if you have them put it one, it's a crap shoot. I ordered some Shotguns from them for some Border Patrol guys. Not only did it take 7 months, but when they did get here, they were shit. I would never trust them with Smithing again, but I have heard from some people that the work was done fast and looked great, so who knows... |
