Just got a M1 carbine and I was wondering if any one knows where I can download information from the army manuals on it like we do from the old ar15 site for the m16. Supposedly FM-37 and the operators manual has what I need. If not then any link to field stripping and general maintence info would help since I didn't get a manual with it. It's a universal commercial model. Thanks, wbear.

Try http://www.fulton-armory.com/ They list M1 Carbine manuals in their library. I got my manuals at a gun show. Also, a little history at http://shoga.wwa.com/~dvelleux/m1carb.html

Here's a link to the Army Field Tech Manual:

Probably not what you're looking for though.
