Or that far. I use to get splatter shooting steel plates. But nothing that broke skin.

I've never heard of or seen a ricochet coming back that far.  The guy is lucky it didn't hit him in the eye.

I was out shooting with a friend of mine once and we had a steel target set up at about 10yds.  He started shooting at it with his S&W 629 6.5" and got a ricochet to the leg.

It tore his Denim pants and bruised his leg pretty good.  He decided not to shoot at the steel target with the 44magnum anymore.

+1 and there's some 'tards out there who don't believe in safety glasses.  More power to 'em, their eyes not mine.

I always try to figure what someone is tring to say with their actions. Why film yourself plinking? Why bring people to stand around and watch plink.  Shit worse than  that can happen and there would be no reason for it.
I don't get it. Maybe it's just me.

I had the same thing happen only I was also the shooter. Thr copper jackes ripped through a swet shirt, & t-shirt & left a similar wound in the same size. The jacket first sliced my pinkie finger that was on the pistol grip of my M-4.

I shot one of my shooting buddies a couple of times that way.  It didn't seem possible for the bullet to have ricocheted that far back, but it did.  Ouchie.

I had some 7.62x39 Norinco SC fly back over my head after shooting it at a hard target. I posted about it a few years ago. Made my bung_hole pucker.

May want to scan your computers for "SurfsideKick 3" and "exmf.exe"

CAMPYBOB got hit by a bad ricochet years ago.  It hit him uncomfortably close to his crotch.  At the next shoot, there was a picture of him wearing a steel codpiece

Having just been to the steel silhouette range today, the audible shot, impact (falling plate), and audible impact return, made the target sound closer than anything I shot today.  Kinda looked like a huge target at 100Y or less, shot with a .22 or something. From 200 to 500 with a .308, the sound of impact took significantly longer to get back to my electronic ears.

This did not look like a fearsome, or life threatning event.  Try shooting a 25 meter bowling ball with a round ball out of a black powder revolver.  I've seen me do it.  No walking around and laughing ensues......

If you look closely, you can actually see the round as it flys back to the right of the camera man.

WWoodworth got hit by a round that deflected back while we were at the range Saturday.  Lucky, it just stuck in his shirt and didn't do any damage.  I ALWAYS wear safety glasses because of crap like that.

I had one come back at me in an indoor range once.  I was a .357, I was the only one shooting, and I got it in about the same place as that guy.  I must have hit the target frame.  Stung a little, but it looked alot worse than it felt.  It happens - no biggie.

I was shooting at paper at about 20 yards to see what kind of spread I was getting with my new 12-gauge.  Apparantly I had more spread than I was expecting, because a couple of the pellets bounced off a wood wall below the target stand and came back at me.  Hit me in the hand and stung for a minute.  No blood though.
