I was sitting here working, and the whole house just shook. Windows rattled and I felt some overpressure through the open windows. Obviously a shockwave.
No sounds of any explosion or aircraft, tho. Anybody in the far N. Houston area hear or feel anything? |
you beat me to it |

Earthquake!
(I've felt 2 of them here in Michigan of all places... years back. One felt like someone kicked my chair - HARD - but there was noone there. I watched the news that night and they said we had a minor tremor) |
did the neighboors experience it also???? could've been a minor earthquake....technically earthquakes can occur just about anywhere.....
It's a rural area, and I don't know any of the neighbors (not my home). And I had the Mesquite Chicken Bacon sandwich from Quizno's last night. |
QED.... |
I've felt quakes and sonic booms that could both be described that way. |
That was me flying home for lunch. I'll divert on the way back.
Godzilla......................I highly doubt it was anything else.

Did you hear a voice telling you to "Get.........Out" |

Probably Michael Moore was going for a jog nearby. Too bad you didn't think to grab your rifle, you missed your only opportunity! |
I hope not.. Dyess is a bit of a haul from Houston. |
Houston area?
Seismic work? Clearing a pipeline? A number of explanations. |
NASA doesn't have a shuttle up right now, so we can rule that out as well... TRG |

You got nuked. You are surfing arfcom fromt the great beyond.
I shot a 15 lbs keg of Green Dot smokeless powder yesterday that shook most of Young county. Maybe that was the shockwave just getting to south Texas.
No blasting, no seismic shooting, no sink hole.
I'm guessing it was another NG tank at a well exploding. It happened about a year ago, and I felt the shockwave 20 miles away. There are quite a few NG wells in the area. |
It may have been generated by the stampede of illegals coming across the border.
Me too. It sucked. |

Just off of 1488, 12mi west of I45. |
Id say a fighter breaking Mach 1 at a rather high altitude. You wont really hear the airplane, but the wave will still come get you
could be your house shifting. That area is known for flooding and soft ground. You're just south of the san jacinto.
look at your tannerite stock pile.
is the room it was stored in missing? |
Not THIS area. And the ground is definitely NOT soft. We had to rent a Bobcat with an auger to make post holes for the fence, and even it had trouble. Like I said, I felt the overpressure. Definitely a shockwave. |
could be a detonation from a ground or stack flare.
you get a shot of liquid that puts out the flare's pilot and then a big shot of gas that makes a cloud. when the pilot relights you get a big BOOM just like a fuel air device. |

So long as I don't have to lie in the mud in front of any bulldozers or stick a fish in my ear, I'm fine. |
Houston is the most unhealthy, fatest city in the nation... maybe there is a walkathon?
