I thought 6/3 was for the M4 series because the Army has determined that they have a 600 m effective range.

How many flat top M-16's does the military have?? Are the flat tops being used for optional sight systems, ACOG's, with carry handle models being used as open sight rifles?

i thought is was because the 6/3 are carbine sights and 8/3 are rifle sights.  and since the intro the of the colt m4, there was no need to make the 8/3 handles anymore.

anyone with a early colt 6700 factory gun care to comment?

I have a pre and post ban 6700 and both have the the 600m rear sight. All Colt removable carry handle models have the 600m sight. The Colt Light Weight 16" model has the 800 meter sight.
