I've seen paracord weaved onto knife handles, guns, etc.
I bought 50' of olive drab cord for $4.00 at the gunshow and need to know how to apply it. Anybody have information on this? |

Soak the cord overnight before weaving, then wrap tight, when it dries it shrinks a bit and won't come loose.

Did you know you can get 100 yards (300 feet) of OD green from Brigade Quartermasters for $18? www.actiongear.com Edit because I am retarded. |

I thought that only worked with rawhide. |

There is a discussion of wrapping a knife in the suvival forum:
ARFCOM-Wrapping a knife handle Bear in mind that when you wrap paracord around your knife handle, it probably won't fit the factory sheath. In the above link is link to Chris Reeves web site on how wrap some paracord around itself, so that you can still use the factory sheath. |
ok, let's see if you mugs can answer this one...is there a link that shows how to wrap paracord into one of those 4-sided thingies so popular with troops nowadays??? |
It's just simple 4 or 6-End straight braiding. You obviously weren't a Boy Scout. |

I'm going to paracord my Kiyotsuna Josaku Gyuto kitchen knife. Wifes gonna shit!

I want to wrap the folding stock on my AK74 but I dont know how.
If you do it with timber hitches you can spiral the "knot" around it.
Boy Scout, hell we learned that in Cub Scouts. Plus your neighborhood Bosun's Mate oughta be able to come up with some fancy work |
Just be sure to gut the 550 cord prior to starting. Makes it tighter and looks cleaner. |

What does "GUT" mean and how do you do it? |
Gutting paracord simply means pulling all the internal strings out before you braid it. |

Sportmansguide has paracord in 100 yard spools for like 12 or 13$. I figured everyone can go buy some and wrap up everything they own.

Vacation in a couple of weeks will give me time to try this on a couple of items.
Gotta be almost as much fun as tying my bootlaces... |

Just got my 300 feet of paracord from sportsmansguide today, so I wrapped up my Kabar. Man, gotta love this stuff. Anyone try wrapping AR handguards in it? or do they get too hot? Just wondering if it would work |

OTAY! I'm on vacation. I'm going out NOW to get the cord and a couple of items to wrap with it. Tomorrow I'll be heading up to a friend's house and we'll try to successfully para-cord something... |
