My next rifle will be a FAL. I already know what brand and what dealer. What I don't know is: Which is better, metric or inch.

I've done some homework and found out that metric mags are cheaper. Give me some more info here plz. Thx.

You will have much better luck finding metric parts, especially new production metric parts. As you said, I've purchased metric twenty-rounders NIW for as little as $9.

I've heard that metric mags fit some inch receivers, but not the opposite. Or maybe its the other way around. Someone else will I'm sure provide the correct info...

Happy (fusil automatique legehr) hunting,

Boland--
Is that absolutely true about the metric mags working in the inch guns?  Reliably?  No rattling around or misfeeds?
I really don't know.
If so, good point!

I got a metric first though now I want a inch.  If only one I would go metric due to parts availabilty especially in the all important American manufactured area. Inch mags can be modified to fit in metrics but why bother unless you have to have a 30 rounder.  Metric mags are dirt cheap and way more plentiful. The metric mags will fit in inchs but they are a little loose due to not having that tab, I think. I think the inch does look a little more elegant.
