About an hour ago, I pull into one of those self service car washes. Put the Glock 30 into my front waste band and start to walk the 30 feet to the change machine. I scan the area again, and this AA is walking right towards me with that look in his eyes. He has a coat on and his hands are in his pockets. At about 20 feet apart, I stop, put my hand under my shirt and grip the Glock, but not showing it to the BG. I yell, "Back off. Don't come any closer." He screeches to a halt and starts to babble something in ebonics that I don't comprehend. Something about giving him some money. I yell again, "BACK OFF NOW." He does a u-turn, walks about 15 feet, turns around and starts to come back towards me. I pull out the .45, point it straight at the container holding his 60 IQ brain, and again shout, "BACK OFF OR I WILL SHOOT YOU." He finally gets the message and high tails it outta there. I just knew he was gonna try to jack me. I knew he had a weapon of some kind, but he never got the chance to use it, nor did I give him a chance to get close enough to show me. I've got a novel idea for all those POS out there trying to rob and plunder. Get a job and provide for yourself. You'll live longer.

Way to go. I don't think even this crowd can (reasonably) criticize you.

My brother had to do something similar at a gas station a year or so ago. "gimme some money man"
I'll agree with Tactical_Jew on this one. |
I wasn't asking for money... I was just wondering if you posted on Arfcom too...
Did you hold the pistol sideways and call him a beotch??
Seriously, good situational awareness. |

Good job. I had almost the EXACT scenario in a motel parking lot at 2am and I did the same thing.
My brother got his CHL for the same reason. He had a run-in with an Congrats, and thank God for the Second Amendment. BTW- Did you report it to the police, in case there were witnesses? |
You''ll need to learn how to articulate your justification a bit better if you plan on doing that in the future.
Interesting story... I'd be curious what would have happend if you hadn't had the gun... glad you did.

Good job. I don't think it would have buffed out if you pulled the trigger.
I think the better question is - did you report it to the police BEFORE the other guy did? If there were witnesses, they likely saw a person pull a firearm and threaten another person that appeared to do nothing threatening himself (despite Saddleup77's saying that he "knew" the guy had a weapon - I guess either as a result of psychic ability, or of x-ray vision). I'm not saying Saddleup77 was wrong or right, but I do think he's lucky that he's is not explaining this to the police right now. |

There shouldn't be a qustion mark in his post. He also spelled everything correctly, including the always difficult "you're". |

If your situational awareness is keen and your instincts are sharp, you don't need to see a weapon. You just know.
In the police report, just don't use the phrase, "He babbled something in ebonics". Good job |
I can't help but wonder what damage you did to his self esteem. All those weeks of govt run public school training in self esteem building right down the drain.
Yep, big +1. |

Somewhere else on the internet, some poor guy is posting on another board right now: "Some asshole pulled a gun on me when I was trying to get change at the car wash. My damn car is still dirty and I'm afraid to go back. Damn nervous whitey..."
Mmmm... I'll go between 10 and 20. You might catch some flack from some here about drawing at the time you did, but since you felt emminitely threatened and he obviously wasn't listening to you about backing off....GOOD JOB!! Anyone else see what happened? |
I agree.............. |
"Man, I ain't never goin' back to dat cah wash! Crazy white people..." |
Same thing here, a few years ago in a dark parking lot ff of Canal on New Orleans, a couple of shit heads said something about me "just going ahead and giving them my money". You ca make fun of my G26 all you want, they didn't.
You should have jacked his coat and shoes and teach him a lesson. Good job
You could have gotten a better facial expression from the guy if you would have had a AK pistol and a drum magazine He might of even left a little DNA on the concrete
You're lucky he didn't run to a pay phone, call the cops and report that someone was brandishing a weapon at the car wash
I had the same thing happen to me at a car wash except I got double teamed.
They said something like "ge fi dolla" At that moment God saw fit to send a gust of wind that blew my shirt back exposing my IWB 1911. They quickly went elsewhere looking for fi dolla! The fact that in this case the gun was actually drawn and verbal threats were made could be trouble if the guy went to the cops and played Mr (I nevah done nuffin) innocent citizen! |

Maybe if I had the Homeboy Sights, he would've listened the first time.
Dallas. The Five Points (Skillman & Abrams)
Would never happen. That will always be a hypothetical question.
Good question. And the answer is no. Absolutely no witnesses. He would never report it since I'm sure he has a least four warrants out for him. Plus, he never got close enough to my car to get a plate number. He got the hell outta Dodge. |

Holy shit. |

Hilarious. |

Whether what you perceived as a threat was a violent threat or not, and whether what you did under the law was legal or not, you probably did the right thing. Better safe than sorry (dead).
