I've been away from the boards for a little while and while I've been gone things have been kinda crazy for me.
Two weeks ago my Mom was diagnosed with Burkette's Leukemia, she was given two weeks to live by the hemotology/oncology department heads at the University of VA, as of last thursday that two weeks was up so now we're going on a day to day basis. Her hospice nurses are great but my whole family is hanging by a thread. If you could include us in you prayers and thoughts I would be forever thankfull. This is the hardest thing I've ever tried to deal with in my life. Jake Stiltner |

Jake,
Your mother will be in my prayers. I offer this to help you find some measure of peace during your turmoil: "When we are hurting and seek our Father's care, He gently takes us to His heart and gives us solace there." Gil Frank |

NO PROBLEM!
Even though we disagree on this board on many issues from time to time... It's sure nice to see that we all can agree to stand with a fellow member when they are in need. God Bless Man! [sniper] [b]The Sniper |

May our Father in Heaven accept her gentle Soul unto his Kingdom and ease for you her passing from this existence. Amen

Man, that's tough...a good friend of mine's father was diagnosed with cancer, and he went from healthy to gone in a month. We used to take him shooting, and got him hooked on rapid fire. He was my friend, too, and something of a "second Father." I truly feel for you and your family, and you will be in my prayers. Try to remember the good times, it helps.

May GOD be with you & your family & may our prayers be answered.

GSG9, don't be afraid to cry, and don't be afraid to cry with her. My mother went from tilling her own 3 acre garden (with one of those hard to handle with the blades in front) to unable to breath in a couple of weeks. During that (short) time, I never let her see me cry. My father told me later that it looked cold. She told my father, and he didn't relay it to me until long after she died, that it made me like I didn't really care. It was painful not showing my emotions. I did it, because I wanted to show her that she had raised a strong son, but really, she wanted someone to cry with. Remember, you don't always have to be "the man." Your friends will probably, like they did me, tell you that "you need to be strong," or that "your mom needs you to be a trooper," or "don't let her see you get upset" That's wrong. She wants you to be you. Let her spend time with you, not with the other person your friends tell you to be.

Our most gracious and loving Heavenly Father, be with your children in their hour of need. Pull up a hedge around this family and be with those who minister unto their mother.
In Jesus' most Holy Name, we pray, AMEN. |

I sent God a prayer for your Mother and your family. In the end..we all make our peace with God. We all leave this world the same way we came into it. Hopefully a better Christian..
as long as you accept Jesus Christ as your savior and ask to be absolved of all sins and ask him to save him and serve him, then you will be granted everlasting life in his kingdom. God watches over all of us and is everywhere. Trust and believe in him. Tell your mother how much you love her and pray with her. |

Be strong.
Everybody has a very special place in their heart for mom. Just try to remember all of the good times, and everything she has taught you and that will make very proud of you. The torch has been passed to a new generation. Take care. |
|
Done and done...when you hold your mom's hand, keep in mind that God is holding you both...ch
