last week at agun show i did some trading and
ended up with a manchester arms .45 cal.
thompson look alike. it was manufactured in
lenoir, tn. it looks alot like a volunteer
enterprises gun. the only difference is composition of the receiver and it takes
regular thompson mags. the vol. arms gun
takes grease gun mags. anyone else seen one
of these or have any info, price, etc.
any help would be appreciated.

by the way i shot 150 rounds through it
yesterday.  works great!!!!!!!!

Auto Ordinance still makes the Thompson in various models, all of which are HEAVY.

Original model with compensator and drum mag gets my vote for the coolest gun ever.

I remember when they were made in Knoxville-in 1968 they were forced to change the design because they could be converted into full auto with very little effort. Money problems, new owner then  They changed the name, and they were then made in Anderson County tn (near Claxton community. Then some time later they were made in Manchester TN ? Loudon County, TN. They welded the trigger group on some models so it could not be taken a part.
