How do you feel about U.S. troops serving on foreign made vessels, and using foreign made arms ? I think the beret issue is just the cherry on top.

...Almost all of our weapons are made in the US, but some are foreign companies. I can deal with that. What I have a problem with, is purchasing our weapons/uniforms from a country that is considered hostile (yes, hostile) to the US. There is a chance, some say a GOOD one, that we will be at war with China in the next 10-15 years.
If you want to do buisiness with your enemy and help him buy the weapons that will be pointing at you in a few years, go ahead...

Regarding the the chance of us going into war soon... I pray for those whom are in armed service for our country, and I want to give a sincere thanks to those whom have served in the past. I say this, because I'm not a soldier (but I'm a programmer), but may be in the near future...
Well, regarding the future chance of war... I recently (a month ago) went into an interview to get a job programming missile guidance systems for a company which manufactures MANY current secret military technologies. Needless to say I didn't get the job, but they gave me an inside hint... Since the recent threats from radical-wing North Korean newspapers, and the recent tensions with China, their company was given orders from the defense dept to mfg a few million (forgot how many) Abrams Tank rounds, and a few other orders their representative couldn't discuss with me.
One thing that was kewl though is that I got to see the new Objective Individual Combat Weapon that they're working bugs out of (the guidance system has a small bug for their smart-grenade launcher). Sweet toy though! I could only see it through a thick BP glass window & many security guards... I WANT ONE!
The Government must know something we may not if they've ordered for that many more tank rounds & kicked the defense manufacturers butts into high gear. My friend got one of the jobs with a different weapons manufacturer, and she's helping design a new missile launch pad that fires new experimental missiles. She can't tell me much about it, but she said that the video she saw of the missiles this thing shoots are small enough to be put onto a Hummer & can take out almost 1/3 of a MILE DIAMETER using a newly developed conventional explosive compound. SOME SWEET STUFF will be implemented into the US Military about the yr 2004!
Hope you troops will like having that kind of power on a hummer & other tools/toys engineers and programmers are making for you!
Have a nice day.
