Is it legal for a private person to sell a pistol at a gun show, this would be in NC.
Seems like I have heard of Stings at these shows.
What about ammo, can I sell it back to the original seller?

Usually they do not allow people to return or resell ammo, because they don't know if it has been reloaded.
If you want to be safe, sell your pistol to a FFL dealer. It should be legal either way.

I'd check with the show promoter at the door. From what I know, only in NY and AR it's required to do a background check on the individual you're selling it to.

Again, check with the promoter at the door, I'm sure they'll be liable also if it's not okay and will tell you the correct information.

Better yet, check your state statutes.
