I'm in a pickle, please decide for me. What would you buy?

1. Serbu .50 cal [}:D]
2. Preban Colt M4 [:D]
3. Wait for something else you want. [:\]

[Edited for amendment below]

I've decided to go Option #2. Now the thing is which preban? The M4 was sold before I made my mind up, but I found two others. Which would you buy?

1. NIB Preban EagleArms Shorty.
2. NIB Preban Colt SPORTER MATCH H-BAR.

They are both going for same price.

If you don't have a pre-ban get one now, there will be lots of .50 bmg's made (until the demoncrates get their way).

If you've got plenty of AR's the BMG would be fun.

if you dont have an m4gery of some kind, buy that first... the serbu .50 looks interesting, but me personally, i would look at something a little more practical, like a good benelli m1super90, hk91, or spas12...

Colt just seems to be kicking Eagle Arms's ass.

The only reason I was considering the Eagle Arms was because it looks more "tactical". Why does that matter if I'm not even gonna shot the damn thing? Hell if I know why I think the things I do. I just listen to that voice in my head some of the time. [%|]

Any other reasons for the Colt over the Eagle Arms?

Buy 'em both, keep the Colt. Why? longer, more accurate barrel. If you want a shorty upper, get a bushmaster Dissipator with the same sight radius as the original, so rear sight gradations still work.

Butkiss, We were given some alternatives, and I gave my response NOT in the basis of quality, which I percieve to be roughly equal, but rather on the physical configuration of the weapons. As for being a snob, I can speak only for myself, but I work hard, save my money and buy the very best that I can. That way I never have second thoughts about what I should have done. Oh, and by the way, my Colt HBAR was bought before the ban for $650. I've never regretted that purchase, either.

I'm going to some gun show (Biloxi, MS at the Coliseum) a friend of mine told me about tomorrow. Hopefully I won't see something there (and buy it), and then all of this would be to waste.

As far as the loan goes, I'll have to stay away from it this time because I'm looking to buy a house within the next six months. I don't need another extra expense right now. I'll be happy with whichever one I choose. (The Colt, [:D])

I'll post pics of it whenever I get it if anyone cares. Thanks for the help all!

I frequent this board quite alot and have seen MAYBE 2 people. 2 people who know very little on the workings of a AR. They prolly did not clean it before thet shot it the first time.

I never said a colt would jam, however if you want non standard pins and internals and maybe a sear block then maybe you can get a colt. But for the life of me I cant see paying more money for just a name and what many consider to be less of an AR.

This is a never ending debate that cannot be won by anybody. I have Colt,BM,and Armalite. They all are quality units. They all have positives aand negatives. I prefer Colt, SP1s in particular, other than the front pin they are the closest to GI. Bottom line, Cant lose with any of them.
