I haven't seen this yet. But cripes, this is why you use bomb disposal units and whatnot. And what's with the crowd of gawkers looking in as the guy is opening the bag.
Rule number 1: If a package might have a bomb in it, get the fuck away. Rule number 2: If you're not sure whether it might have a bomb, refer to rule number 1. www.bangedup.com/bu_posts/boomboomyeehaw.wmv EDITED TO ADD: WARNING... GRAPHIC AND VIOLENT. |
more importantly, if someone is investigating a bag that might have a bomb in it, GET THE F*** AWAY.
I can't believe how many people were looking over his shoulder. |
I wonder what made some guy be up on a bridge overlooking that shoot film of a few guys hanging out????
My first suspect. Cav(Always Paranoid)Vet I am tired of seeing their videos. Any video fucking up one of our guys needs accompanied by a bag of terrorist body parts. |
Reminds me of a story I once read from a Vietnam era Green Beret commenting on a Chinese nung in his patrol who spotted a tripwire, walked up to it, followed it off into the grass, then the idiot grabs the wire and yanks it! Bye bye Nung. The relative frequency in which stupid acts are observed is kinda scary. Makes you wonder about all the idiotic things that happen off camera!
I don't know. it kind of looks like Israel to me. look at the vehicles. Those are much more common there.
I agree, what a bunch of idiots. "Hey, what is ticking in this bag? Sounds like a bomb, I better open it and look." |
"EVERYONE come check out this unattended bag in the middle of the street!"
"hmmmm what does this button do"? |
If you haqve seen some of the guys who disarm some of the roadside bombs in Iraq they look to be just regular dressed guys with some tools. I don't know perhaps he knew what he was doing but just fucked up in a really bad way. How many boxes are just in the middle of a street, unless moved there?
Either that, or one of the many nimrods hanging all over him reached in and said, "Hey Ahmed, what does this do?" |
I apologize for repeating this-
years ago I was using the phone in an alcove in a federal building as several agents returned from lunch. They spotted my soft sided briefcase (which was pretty large) but could not immediately spot me behind them in an alcove where the phone was located. They all stopped and looked at my briefcase, I think obviously thinking that it could be a bomb (this was pre 9-11 but after Oklahome City). One of them then reached out to poke it with his pointer finger |
Can someone mirror it for me? My work has bangedup.com blocked and megaproxy won't let me DL videos. Thanks-
+1 .... or it was triggered remotely. |
That is what happens when you fark with an IED! That is why disruption tools done remotely are a good thing, a robot would have been much better too, at least you can buy a new one. You can't buy a new leg or head like that dude just lost.
then again your looking at $100,000 compared to $100 not to be cruel but another guy is just waiting for the op to make a $100 in a single day to disarm some bombs. Just to support his family. You have to hand it to people in very poor countrys they will do just about anything to take care of their families. One of the sad things about us we have become a wee bit spoiled. |
MP's are good at that stuff, my buddy was at FT. Riley at an incident for a suspicious box in the parking lot and some MP car came roaring up and ran over the box! Needless to say, they ruled out all suspicions of the box being a device! |

Still trying to figure out what country it is for sure.... wasn't Israel, or Iraq.... The Turkey comment has me intrigued.
- BUCC_Guy |
they're all probably after a 'freebie'...
notice how no one approached to see if the guy was alive or even 'try' to help.... one guy does approach and retrieves something... |
Very bizzare that no Safety protocals were followed even though you had a dude with a policia vest on. For God sake secure the area and follow some procedure.
i'm pretty sure those are Red Crescent ambulances in the back. i would guess turkey or the west bank
It was Turkey.
one of the guys had avest that said "POLIS" turkish. oddly enough, some of the voices in the end appear to be speaking english.hinking.gif |
Uh which guy got it? the guy digging in it or the one looking right over it?
I saw this quite a while ago, it was not label Iraq, and in fact was before all this started in Iraq, it was also longer than this, showing some vid of the guys that were blown up.
freaking hilarious :) |

hummmm people messing with a bag in the middle of the street, what to do?
GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!!!! |
Is it a requirement to be a complete idiot when you live in a 3rd world country?
Ooh look, suspicious bag with cops all over the place, ill go stick my face 2 feet away, maybe there's a kitten or a puppy inside of it! I laughed. Honestly, stupidity thins the pack yet again. Looks like whoever was left after the blast laying on the ground was having a very bad day. I doubt that ones still alive. |
Check out the guy in the checkered shirt.. [homer]walking forward.. blown back... walking forward blown back...[/homer]
Maybe Turkey. They are not speaking Arabic, and they are definitely not Israeli.
Turkey, just googled Polis. |
Do chikens lay eggs? Can you bend backwards that far? I just wanna know how the hell no one else got nuked. They were all around it like flies on shit. |
I would have to say "YEP" on that one, unless he has more than 9 lives.... |
No offense, but anyone who laughed at that video has serious issues.
I think the dude survived - this seems to be the news report: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/3116183.stm The man who is screaming is the cop that took the blast in the face. |
If nothing else, the lesson learned here is that blast pressure get much, much lower with distance from the explosion. The only guy to lose serious body parts was the guy in the bag, everyone else standing around stayed (relatively) intact.

I used this video today to teach my guys "EOD For Amateurs":
Rule 1: Do not touch a suspicious package. Rule 2: DO NOT TOUCH A SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE! Rule 3: DO NOT TOUCH A SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE!! It got their attention. Big Time. Hopefully, we'll never run into a true device incident, but if this video can save lives should one occur, I'm all for it. |
