Anyone see "Rain" on Animal Planet?
I'm a dog guy and a back rifle guy too.
So a story about a "war dog" held my interest.
I just saw my wife taped version and was wondering about a weapon in the movie.
A guy in the patrol had a pistol gripped, scoped mounted something.
He shot a sniper with it when the dog was crossing a river.
What was it?

Neither were the M16A2's that they all were using.

Didn't have the M9 beretta back then either.

I caught the A2s and the M14, Thompson.
The M9. I howled when the guy gave her that.
I even squawked when I saw the new cots in the infirmary.
I'm just too nit picky.

Hehe it was a stainless version too!!
MDS what was wrong with some having an M14?
Did anyone catch the AK with synthetic stock and norinco scope set up a guy was firing, from
one of the choppers? Some guys did use Thompsons but this one had that huge barrel on it and I don't think he fired full auto once.

Any episode of Tour of Duty blew this movie out of the water.

The non attention to detail in the movie was amazing. I saw the previews and wanted to watch this movie cuz I'm into nam and war dogs, but this was like some comedy with all the wrong equipment. I had friends calling me laughing about the Hi-Point carbine and post ban AR's. Apparently nobody that was involved in making this movie had a clue about rifles or handguns or trucks or helicopters, or simply did not care. I understand that it's about the dog but please they might as well had people running around with Red Ryder BB guns.

I thought it funny, the guy with the carbine was one to take out the VC in the tree when the others had M16's. I would think the M16's range and accuracy would be superior to a 9mm carbine.

However, I did enjoy the movie as long as I overlooked the many firearm and tactical flaws.

I'm an M14 fan. I just stated that I caught it.
It was good to see it there.

Me and my dog would have had to swim back before I would have had him put down
