OK, we've all bought some dogs.

Mine was probably an Enfield that LOOKED like it just needed to be cleaned. Actually, it needed to be re-barrelled. $125 down the toilet.

Take this opportunity to warn your fellow AR15.com'ers from making the same mistake you did.

What's the worst gun you've ever bought???

Don't usually buy anything used or anything that is not of a reputable manufacture. No bad buys to date. [:)]

Essex 45 frame dont remember how much it was.Pin holes were on the reciever but thats about all you can say.I think I wore a file out fitting the ejector.

Taurus PT22 (yeah, I know...)

BANG..(jam)...BANG...(jam)...(curse & swear)...BANG...(jam)...(curse & swear more)...

Ironically I was recently given a Beretta 21A which is basicly the same gun by Beretta. Runs like a charm.

Colt Officer's Model. The crappiest handgun I ever sunk money into. It was el fucko from the gitgo.

Found a sucker, and traded it for a Beretta M-92F.

Taurus PT22
Never had a jam, even though the blowback extraction looks like it is prone to jam.
However, I have had parts falling off it while I was firing it. The magazine release button has "ejected" a few times, and I have had to replace it twice, spring too. A few months ago the firing pin broke. I haven't used it extensively, but I have put maybe a thousand or so rounds through it. (CCI Std.)

My first pistol, Davis Industries .380. I could have thrown it at someone and got better results.

Hmm...a tie between a CAR15 slapped together by some amateur gunsmith that kept doubling, and a Frankenstein parts 1911 that had a bad mainspring.

I bought a really hammered SKS a long time ago. It shot pretty well, but the bayonet flew off on more than one occaision!

Para-Ordnance P14 LTD: relatively "worst" of the 4 pistols I've ever owned, as it wasn't that bad of a gun, but the fact that full mags tended to release when it was laid on the side with the mag release was a bit disoncerting.

I also bought a Dan Wesson Model 15 .357 - accurate as hell, but you had to crank the rear sight all the way to the left to hit point of aim, one misfire out of 12 in double action (no problem single action, and I tried EVERYTHING to get it to be reliable DA)and finally after three or four cylinder fulls the action would lock up (and no, it was not from a too tight barrel/cylinder gap). Paperweight!

Wait - I want to revise my "worst gun" vote...

The PT22 was the 2nd worst, the Norinco 320 Uzi clone was the hands down worst. It never ran right. It eventually became so irritating I lost my temper and attacked it with a hammer and beat the living snot out of it. Its the only gun I've ever destroyed.

Mine was a Universal M-1 carbine.

After shooting it for awhile the gas piston started to deform the metal at the bottom of the barrel.

The end result was that so much metal was deformed that the bolt did not close completely in a rapid fire string of shots.

The worst part was that this resulted in an out of battery discharge(KABOOM).

The case ruptured and blew the bolt apart sending metal fragments into my face and arms.

Luckily I was not seriously injured and was able to sell the rest of the gun for parts.

One of the very first Glock 19's to hit the market. Darn thing had constant failures to go into battery.

Also had a Colt stainless government model whose slide ran kinda diagonally on the frame. Fit was horrible, wouldn't feed for crap. Luckily I got rid of it rather than trying to have it fixed.

Taurus PT-111 for ARlady to carry. Took it to the range, and she could not even pull the trigger. I could fire it, but it took one heck of an effort. We took it to a gunsmith, to see if he couldn't lighten the trigger pull, he tried to measure it, it was off his scale at over 15 lbs. This taught us to dry fire whatever we were going to purchase. I'm sure as heck not paying for a gun she can't use!! We got her a Glock after that, and she loves it!

olympic arms m4orgery, snapped the bolt in half and blew chunks of metal by my face through the ejection port since I shoot left handed. Multiple failure to extract with various types of ammo. I'd have more faith if Jennings manufactured it.

Worn out Remington 550-1. A semiauto .22 that (when working correctly) cycles correctly with everything from shorts through the hottest LR rounds, but the firing pin design is WEAK and it breaks often.

One of these days I'll machine a monolithic nut and firing pin out of some radical titanium alloy and it will work fine, but it's not a priority.

The rifle is rather pretty hanging on my wall, however.

Para Ord P10.45. Simply the best jam-o-matic I've ever owned. In addition to jamming it ended up with a cracked slide. Still like Para and plan to get the P14 LDA but not another P10.

I've had a few. Two noteable lemons come to mind. #1 a Colt Officers ACP. It would not feed the first round I tried to chamber of hardball. I took it back to the store, UNFIRED and showed them it wasn't going to work. The said to go try it. It would be ok. I said that I would try it, but if it wasn't ok they were taking it back. It was not yet fired. They agreed. It didn't work at all. Duh! They took it back. #2 was a Carbon 15. Lots of problems. I sent it back to the factory and they "fixed" it. I never trusted it. I traded it back to the store that sold it to me. The next guy who bought it continued to have problems including a broken bolt. He sent it in again. Never heard how it came out after that. What a POS.

Biggest POS I bought is a Charles Daly 1911. It is the "commander" size. Rough, rough, pitiful, disfunctional and close to dangerous. I could throw it in the Gulf of Mexico or sell it but my conscious won't allow me to take advantage of some poor dumb bas???ard. Guess I'm stuck with it. I won't be buying another you can bank on that.

Smith & Wesson 6946--really nice DAO gun, when it worked. Had a nasty tendency to pop springs from the internal safety, locking the slide closed. Traded it on a SIG P228.

Smith & Wesson 4013 (didn't learn my lesson). Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the INSIDE! Traded for a Glock 23.

One of the Century-receivered Garands. Paid $439, was the POS that all now know it to be. Pawned it for $200 to the first pawnshop that would take it. Now I know, only buy Garands with USGI receivers--and it only cost @250 to learn that lesson.

This got to be my first time gun buy, a Charles Daly 12g 18" Barrel shotgun. It said Charles Daly on the outside but made in Turkey. You got the picture. It was cheap and a POS. I didn't know any better then. The first gun they gave me, the barrel literally fall off (lucky me I didn't fire it yet), the dealer swapped out the barrel for me and now the gun jam on every pump.

smith n wesson sigma...POS POS POS.CHEAP COPY OF A GLOCK.DONT BE FOOLED INTO BUYING ONE THERE ARE ALOT ON THE USED MARKET AND FOR GOOD REASON.PEOPLE CANT GET RID OF THEM FAST ENOUGH.I SOLD MINE FOR 125 BUCKS AND FELT AS IF I WAS RIPPING THE GUY OFF.

Lorcin .380acp, and a S&W 8-shot 12 guage. these are the crappeist guns i ever purchased.

the firearms that were not exactly lemons, but was dissapointed in are Colt stainless compitition model .45acp, belgium made hi-power (i like the cheap hungarian one better), berreta 92f (the one my father had, shot like a dream compared to the one i bought), mossberg 590 12ga., cz-75-the enamel finished ones that peeled (to this day the Cz-75 i have now is one of the most accurate 9mm i've ever had other than the series 70 colt commander i used to have) this is all i can think of now.

About the Norinco UZI- I got one from a dude in a trade that jammed like hell. He thought he was "getting over on me"

The Norinco UZI's feedramp is dimensioned to different tolerances than the Israeli.
BUT, Norinco still uses an Israeli clone die to make thier mags.

So, unless you know how to adjust feedlips, the gun won't run.

I do.

2000+ rounds to date in that Norinco, 3 jams.

Llama 45 ACP. Pull trigger, double & jam; pull trigger, double & jam. Bought it new so I took back and got my money back. Years later I had forgotten the lesson I learned so I bought another one because it cheap. Not cheap enough. Bang. Jam. Bang. Jam. Took a financial beating but got rid of it.

I have bought 2 "bad" guns. One was a Colt officers 45, myself and two Marine officers couldn't hit a 55 gal drum at 12 yards, and a Taurus PT-99 that I had the same problem with. Both of my problems were cured though as the Colt was bought for 250 and I got 350 on a trade in for a Python a month later, the Taurus had a warped barrel(now I see why the owner was selling it so cheap-$150)and Taurus fixed it free of charge. So needless to say I am not unhappy at all.

When I had money a long time ago I bought an Uzi Pistol that was broken right out of the box. Every time I shot the thing it would only cycle once and I had to pull the trigger again to get it to fire. I got fed up with it and sold it to some guy at an indoor range.

Worst or dangerous guns...had both. Dangerous; Security Industries .357 ,only got to shoot it about 40 times. Fragments hit the target and cylinder wouldnt close, forcing cone was cracked, suppose frame was bent too. Towards the end the gun would kinda kick forwards...weird.And a J-22 Jennings(would fire upon chambering) Worst new gun; S&W 59...never malfuctioned but shot about 4 or 5 feet low at 15 yards! Lemons; Erma .22(jam city), CZ75 Combat (bad rear adj. sight and would not feed any hollow points), IJ .22 auto, S&W model 17 (crooked barrel), Llama .380 (mag fell out), Plainfield/wire stock carbine(couldnt hit a thing), COP .357(inaccurate/bad indexing) Need more? Unlike watch-six, my OM thought it was a Gold Cup, but the last shot tossed the brass into the bridge of my nose, just below my shooting glasses...damn it hurt. Its gone!

Enfield #1mk3 - first time i shot it the nose cap/sight cover/bayo lug thing went flying about 15 feet. then the extractor spring broke and wouldn't pull the shell out. not forgeting that it shot 2 feet high either.

Plus, last weekend my buddy gives me this old russian m44 carbine 7.62x54 that the barrel had been cut off to 17in. and therefor it has no front sight. We shot it at his place after dark(just to see what it would do) and there was flame about 2 feet long. sure lit up the valley!!! [pyro]

Anything in .25 ACP is suspect. My friend shot one and the slide flew off and hit him between the eyes. Lucky he is hardheaded. Speaking of bouncing things of the head, I've heard of people being shot in the head with a .25 ACP and having the round BOUNCE off!

Mine was an old Enflield .308. I never got to shoot it because the bolt handle broke off when I got it and checked the chamber before putting it in the gun cabinet.

Calico M-100. I might have just had a bad one. It was the "king of jamamatics"! I sold it to guy in 1988 and he came back and threatened me with a lawsuit in court if I did not return his money. Needless to say, I took it back and traded it for a 1978 Honda Civic to drive back and forth to work (lemon yellow, crushed hood from impact with deer, and ALL of the dash wiring was completely melted together due to some idiot putting aluminum foil around a fuse). I bet the guy thought HE was ripping ME off!!! [spank]

I'm sure the worst one I got was a "Palmetto Arms" AR15 back in the early 80's. It was a true pos, must have been made in China. But sadly it was made here in the US, I don't remember where. Anyone ever hear of this manufacturer?
