Subject: Adopt A Sniper Update
You have received this email because you have been a generous supporter of
Snipersonline U.A.'s ADOPT A SNIPER program.
If you do not wish to receive future updates please email me at;
[email protected] and I will remove your name from our list.
To bring everyone up to date the program is now supporting 70 sniper
platoons, deployed across the world. The majority of them are obviously in
Iraq and Afghanistan but there is a couple of units that are deployed into
areas that we can not divulge here. As we have stressed, in this war on
terror, the sniper brings precision accuracy to the battle and keeps the
rest of the troops secure by engaging threats well before they have to face
them in the deadly confrontation known as Close Quarters Battle.
Your support has meant the world to these heroes.
We have received countless letters and phone calls from them thanking us for
the support. We make sure that they know that their efforts are appreciated
by the people that have and are continuing to support them. One of our
first platoons is in the process of rotating back to the states and we look
forward to their return. Hopefully after they have made it stateside,
operational security protocols will allow us to let them post, by name and
company, their personal Thank yous.
The project director, Brian Sain, advises that as this endeavor has moved
forward the attention and focus has changed. At first we were shipping
everything from candy to toilet paper along with the high speed gear. As we
have learned and the number of platoons has increased we have found that
what the guys really want is just the gear. They advise that their families
have been supportive in proving for the comfort type items.
Thus we have changed to shipping almost entirely to the high speed gear
these men need to make their jobs easier and every shot more effective.
Listed below, in no particular order are the major items that we have seen
requested.
#1. CLEANING SUPPLIES - Patches, bore brushes, cleaning fluids, all the
stuff needed to get that clean bore shot is constantly in short supply. We
are set up through Brownell's as a dealer and get reduced pricing for this
type of item.
#2. CHEST HARNESSES - The body armor issued to the men does not allow them
to get a proper position on the rifle stock for a proper sight picture
through their scopes. So these guys are shedding their armor in the heat of
battle. NOT GOOD. The biggest request has been for Blackhawk's Strike
Plate carrier chest harness. Using this rig they can take the solid chest
and back plates out of their armor and place them into the carrier. This
gives them some protection as they do not have to shed the rig to get a
decent stock weld.
#3. CHEEK PADS - Both Eagle and Blackhawk cheek pads with the integral ammo
pouches allow the sniper to get good cheek placement and the ease of quick
ammo retrieval.
#4. DROP HOLSTERS - The Safariland 6004 drop leg holster places the sidearm
low and makes it easier to access for defensive purposes when in prone or
crouched positions.
#5. WIND METERS AND LASER RANGEFINDERS - Many of the engagements are at long
distance. One of the confirmed kills one of our snipers took was at 1230
yards. At those distances proper calculations to compensation for wind and
range is imperative.
#6. SPOTTING SCOPES AND MINI BINOCULARS - The issued items are often large
and or not as numerous as is needed.
#7. MATS - A hot dry arid theater of operation makes for very warm rooftops.
These are just some of the items that we have been supplying.
Many of the companies have worked out pricing arrangements with us so we get
these items at rock bottom pricing.
We continue to look to our supporters. We ask that you continue to spread
the word about this endeavor and the good work that these heroes are doing.
