I'm waiting with baited breath, and a pain in my butt, to see if my vote for George W. Bush was worth it or was just a waste of a good vote that next time will go for one of the third party presidential candidates.

This where the new world order is coming in to play there will be seven nations/seven crowns.
This would be the start of banning the private ownership of weapons. I think that the United States will be kicked out because this. Oh well.

Bolt223,
A third-party vote IS a wasted vote.  Haven't we learned anything about protest votes from the last 2 Clinton presidencies?  President Bush won this time by a hair.  Protest votes will ensure that he loses next time.

Here's some mention of the vote.

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2001/5/19/181541.shtml

The pivotal date on this effort will be July 9 at the U.N.’s long-anticipated
gun-control summit, "where they will propose banning civilian ownership
of firearms worldwide,” LaPierre said in an address at the NRA's annual
                   convention.

The plan, as LaPierre described it, is to "demonize your ownership of
guns by declaring that you’ve got too much freedom, and that a global
gun ban is the best global gun policy.”

At the start of the U.N. conference in July, governments in capitals
around the world and anti-gun groups will celebrate "Small Arms
Destruction Day” by tossing handguns, rifles, and other small arms into
bonfires to kick off the summit.

I see the U.S. bending over to be a part of the world system.  Weapons confiscation by a fascist or conquering nation/body has always been a part of history, even recorded in the Bible.
This time it will be a little different.  The majority will be fooled into thinking they live in a safe world that doesen't require personal ownership of firearms. "who needs 'em?" they'll say.  S-U-C-K-E-R-S!

"I sit, a queen and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow." Rev:18

You can also bet that if they pass this restriction on "certain" firearms, and they have a hard time rooting out "certain" firarms and their owners.......well, I'll say for myself that I may not be a member on this board to much longer.

Kinda makes you stop to think don't it?

The UN will stop at nothing short of total world domination.

They will be and are the primary principal to the New World Order as has been prophesied.

I would like to think that the US would never accept such strong arm tactics and the GW and our other leaders that still operate under some semblance of our traditional God ordained and blessed freedoms would tell the UN that we don't need their intervention into our own private affairs but one never really knows huh?

Perhaps we should start painting our targets blue in order to be better prepared to pick up that color quickly.

Actually and honestly this scares me.  We may be a super power but it is certainly not impossible for the world to unite against us and declare us unfit to do business with them based on our unwillingness to assist in ridding the world of one of its lat great evils.

What position would we be in then if we found ourselves with economic sanctions and frozen assets?

I think we should all be very concerned about this and that for those of us who beleive in the power of prayer to pray.

For those who do not thats fine.  Prepare....prepare.....prepare as we will all be in this battle together.  Race, sex, religion etc etc will not matter.

We will all be........and must stay as brothers.

God Bless the US and God Bless us All.

I don't believe that they will bend-over, at all.

Sure, global prowess is important, and the UN is the lynchpin of it all.

But domestic tranquillity superceeds everything to a politician who still has to run again in the future.

While I don't believe "The Great Gun Ban" will bring anywhere near the level of civil disorder some of you think it will (No, 65,000,000 gun owners[red]AREN'T[/red] going to start shooting),
it will still be contentious enough to ensure a political loss.
Politicians always "vote where they eat", idealogy be dammed.

It is much too late. The best definition of the New World Order is global economic interdependence and the structure is already in place with NAFTA/GATT/WTO. There is too much money and power at stake for the elitists running the show to risk losing it all now because the last country- the U.S. has a FEW dinosaurs that will not go along with the 30+ plan which is nearing end game.

There WILL be a massive media campaign, including movies and celebrity endorsements pushing for global government. It will make the anti-gun bias and propaganda you see now pale in comparison. The sheeple will eat this up and YOU will be branded as either unbalanced or terrorists.

Just as an aside, have you ever read the unedited document?  I got a little suspicious of all the ellipses and brackets in the quote, so I tracked the whole thing down somewhere and read it.  Someone seems to have doctored it a bit to strengthen the pro-gun stance.  I try not to use it, since it just gives anti-gunners a chance to discredit you.  Not that there isn't good stuff in #46, but not quite what the above quote would lead you to believe.  In fact in the paperwork for Emerson v US, the anti-gunners use this very quote as evidence that some pro-gunners are 'manufacturing' support for their case.  And they do have a point, seeing as how Fed 46 seems to be referring to organized government-run militias:

X--Kill,

There is one thing about being a Super Power and that is the fact that we still have enough nuclear firepower to totally destroy all life on earth or at least there would not be much left of civilization when it is all over. So I don’t care if the other nations impose economic sanctions or freeze our assets since we still have all the power we need to take care of that kind of problem. I believe in that old adage “Better Dead then Red” and I also believe in doing exactly what Charlton Heston did at the end of the second Planet of the Apes movies, where he detonated the nuclear weapon that would destroy all life on earth.

Actually they are wrong. He makes several points about the whole of the citizenry being armed:

"...still it would not be going too far to say the State governments with the people on their side would be able to repel the danger..."

"To these would be opposed a militia amounting to near half a million of citizens with arms in their hands,..."

The best that can be said of the American Revolutionaries and the political leaders of the early Republic is that they were comfortable with the presence of private arms in the general society.  They were also comfortable with conscripting the possessors of those arms into public duty and maintaining inventories of the private arms that they possessed.

The militia clauses in the Constitution, the Second Amendment, and the Militia Act of 1792 were about the arrangement of military force in the early Republic.  They were not about the civil rights of private individuals to be armed outside of the knowledge and reach of government.  Authority for a right to be armed outside of the law will have to be found somewhere else.

Oh, lord, GEErnst.

I'll just flush this bird so you all know where he's coming from. GEErnst is the primary poster on the potomac institute's boards -- essentially, people migrate in there and yell at him every so often.

The "Potomac Institute" is a "communitarian" group that has openly espoused an ideology directly contrary to individual freedom -- essentially, they think that the "Tyrrany of the Majority" is a good thing. Just to let you know where this guy is coming from, here's a quote from the front of their webpage:

The extreme individualism of the right to be armed outside of the law is at the center of contemporary American rightwing politics. The fantasy is what the Potomac Institute (Md.) calls the armed populace fantasy, which is a subcategory of the libertarian fantasy which is the rightwing fantasy. It is that it is possible to reverse the process followed by the Framers of the Constitution from John Locke's The Second Treatise of Government (1689), dissolve law and government and return to the State of Nature, which is the state of anarchy. In his 1984 book That Every Man Be Armed the NRA's Stephen Halbrook formulates a doctrine of "libertarian republicanism." We can take libertarian republicanism as the unofficial, if not the official, doctrine of the National Rifle Association. "Libertarian republicanism" is a contradiction in terms. Republicanism is a form of government. The version of libertarianism formulated and promoted by gun rights advocates denies the very legitimacy of government. The operating concept is individual sovereignty. The personal right to arms sought by the likes of Stephen Halbrook and the National Rifle Association is the right to individual sovereignty. Individual sovereignty is a plank in the Libertarian Party Platform. Individual sovereigns by definition do not consent to be governed. Positive law become a code of ethics— we hang the Ten Commandments on the wall, thou shall, thou shall not— without powers of enforcement until the code has been violated. We then apply draconian punishment as an example to others who might stray. It is a prescription for authoritarian justice. The extreme individualism leads exorably to political cynicism. Political cynicism is nowhere more evident than in gun rights politics.

The wisest thing that the United Sates can do is to part ways with the UN as quickly as possible.  The UN is not moving toward freedom - they are moving toward world domination and it will take the disarming of the US to accomplish that.

So why do we suppose that Mr. Secretary General is so desparate to achieve this end?  Because this would in effect make him "President of the World".  Do we know any power hungry politician who has not dreamed of this?

We must and we will fight this attempt to disarm Americans with any and all of the resources we have.  This cannot happen or The United States of American will cease to exist.

The US will stay in the UN, and continue on with the one slice at a time strategy on private firearms.
Don't you think that the powers that be know that bringing in the blue helmets would mean civil war?  This is not how they operate.  A few of the high profile types wiil go to jail as examples, the reat of us will mostly hunker down and hide our weapons.  To what end?  Are you waiting for a thunderbolt to hit you?  "To defeat one's enemies without battle, is the highest art of war."  Sun Tzu.  We will be marginalized, then demonized, then neutered, then jailed if necessary.  The only way that the other side will start a shooting war is to use it for propaganda value for themselves.

Unfortunately, I believe that hes right.  A shooting war would make it easier for us to gain support from non gun owners, especially if the bluecoats started the shooting.  Kinda strange.  200 years ago you had citizens of England writing letters and discussing in private what to do about the redcaots and their tyrannical masters.  Now we bluecoats and the crazy nut jobs in the UN that run them.

I have an interesting story I heard sat.  I heard this from someone else, so I don't know if it's accurate, but it does make sense.  There is a guy in the neighboring town of Hico (where Brushy Bill Roberts, supposedly an alias for William H. Bonney is buried) who was discharged from the Army not too long ago.  They wanted him to go overseas somewhere on a UN peacekeeping mission.  The problem was, this guy wouldnt trade his BDUs for UN shit, and he wouldn't take the US flag off of his arm and replace it with the UN flag.  The way I was told, by placing the UN flag on his right arm, he was placing himself under the command of the UN which he said was forbidden by the Constitution.  Don't know for sure how true it is.  Just thought Is throw that out there.

Between now and July, Im gonna get more ammo, more supplies and more practice, just in case SHTF.  Buenas Suerte, mi amigos.
