Does anyone know if the ban on hi-cap mags will sunset?

George W. Bush knows.

It automatically Sunsets.  Congress will probably renew it and then it's up to GWB.

Here's where we get to see if he has any balls. All of the Bush supporters told us that there is a major difference between dems and pubs. This will let us know for sure. I suspect that he'll have some lame excuse for signing the bill. I hope I'm wrong.

That is my dream. For the ban to just go away. The bad part is, if the law sunsets, imagine the hideous piece of crap that the antis will come up with. If we have a president like Hillary after GWB is gone, we're gonna need asslube something fierce.

Come on Critter, give Bush a little bit of a break.  I'm about 95% sure the ban will be renewed.  He has already expressed his opposition to high cap mags.  (For logical reasons unknown to me)  But you have to admit, you'd rather have Bush as pres over Gore.  If Gore were in office we'd be talking about keeping any and all guns.  I'm very happy we've been able to stop the regression of firearms right.  Would I like them move forward, well yes, but we have to stop them being added before we can the BS one repealled.

What happens with the hi-cap ban will depend 100% on you and the rest of the pro-gun people, during the 2002 election.  The ban will sunset 2 months before the 2004 election.  If the anti-gunners claim they won the 2002 election, they will push gun control and have the majority to do so.  If the pro-gun people are elected in droves, the anti-gunners will be too scared to mention gun control for fear of not being elected in 2004.  The same goes for the President.  If no one wants to touch the subject of gun control, then the candidates for President will not campaign on that being an issue they support.

Start planning now.  If you aren't involved in politics, get involved.  If you aren't registered to vote, get registered.  If there is not pro-gun person in your area running, find one and help them campaign.  The race for the primaries has already started.  If we don't win in 2002 we will most certainly loose in 2004.

Amen Brother...

I was saying this back in November when the question mark came up in FL.

2002 is the KEY fella's.  There's a bunch of places where hope is certainly lost...  Here in the PRK, we will never see a Pro-Gun senator get elected, and we'd be lucky if 30% of the Representatives would be "Pro".

Do remember though, what happens here, can happen there...  Y0U can stop it from happening, but don't ignore what's happened here, as it's the blueprint they will use there...

Also, the Socialists can win in CA, NY, and IL, but that doesn't give them the country...  We need to make sure that the numbers stay strong everywhere else.  We need to take Pittsburgh & Philly PA, and St. Louis MO  back, we need to win everywhere in IL knowing that Chicago will fall, and the same applies to NY.

we can turn this around, but the middle of the road GUNOWNERS need to get on board or we will loose.

The NRA should have more than 25 million members with all the gun owners in this country, instead of only 4 million.  If each person recruits 2 or 3, we will be on our way!

This is heartening to read, guys.  Some good ideas, and it is good to see some have not given up hope.

WE NEED TO SEND GEORGE BUSH A MESSAGE!!  A message that says if it weren't for gun owners, he would not even be in office, and if he betrays us, we will bury him.  UNITE>

Clinton himself said that Bush won because of the gunowners.  High praise from a low man.

If the bill doesn't get to GWB's desk to be signed, it doesn't matter if he would sign it.

The first fight is in the House and Senate.  If it gets stopped either place, it's dead.

vote pro gun, its the only way, and email g-w, tell him that he will have our support IF he vetos the bill (provided it makes it to his deck) but he will certainly lose if he doesn't.

if he gets enough incentive hell do it. but we need to back up what we say.

as far as makeing every vote count in ny, its hopeless, the elections are fixed...

its because of the big cesspool that we have all this shit to deal with. i still say they should cut the state off just north of albany and declare the (real) upstate a new state. that way we might actually have a say in some of this shit, as it is we are nullified by the sheeple in that hellhole.

but thats not going to happen, so i plan on moveing someplace more practical.

The NRA and GOA web sites have a great grass roots section that tells you any thing about your reps, national and state. They have pre-wrote letters that you can add your name and address to and send or print it out and mail it.Flood those offices with mail. I read that they give approx. 1,000 votes per 1 single corspondence. This means per 1 call or 1 letter that 999 are sitting on their butts doing nothing.
