People have found them cheaper but I still think that $1200 is a great price. A brand new Colt HBAR is close to $1000.

I bought a Colt 6601 H-Bar for $1000, But you don't find to many. Lower's sell for $850-950 so if it is not exactly what you want can you sell the upper for...say $300? Then you can build it any way want it!
New MT6731 16" H-Bar go for $725.00 plus tax here so it kinda boils down to the collapsible stock and threaded barrel!
Hopes this helps ya![:D]

I'd like to find one for $1200.  Saw several at the gun show this weekend $1800.  Yeah right!!!

IMHO, yes, $1,200.00 is a pretty good price on a pre-ban Colt HBAR, here in Dallas.

Wow, a thread where no one disagrees?
Sounds like a fair price (IL here too), not a "killer" price, but you won't loose money on it if you decide to sell it the next day (or next decade). Get it if you won't miss the $$ too bad, you'll just be mad at yourself later if you don't.

Century can bring all the $475 ARs they want to, Colt will still be a safe investment.

Hey thebeekeeper1,

I have an idea, if you sell me your "Colt Shorty" for say........................
$1000.00, you could afford that H-Bar AND the LEGP!! [:D][:D][:D]

Thank you both for the replies.  Actually the configuration is exactly what I want.  I want the 20"bbl and full size rifle, so am mostly reluctant to part with the $$, as this will prevent the purchase of the LEGP.  I was not here to be in on the group purchase, but thought I'd buy one to help out as it seems to be a catastrophe for the gentlemen who put out for it.  BUT, I would really rather spend twice as much for a Colt configured exactly as I want over a post-ban with no chromed bbl., and non collapsible collapsible stock.  What to do, what to do . . . LOL.

If the firearm is in decent shape then it sounds like an excellent price. I am in the process of forking over $1800 for a NIB mod 6600 Colt HBAR with all the accessories. I would have liked to have bought something used and saved some bucks but prefer having the piece of mind that comes with buying new. Go for it cause it ain't going to get any better.

Today - it is a great deal....

A few years from now you may think it was unbelievable!

Or you may regret passing on it...
