Even though it was not written as a song Amazing Grace is the greatest song of all time as long as you believe in G-d that is. It just does something to you every time you hear it at least it does to me.

Had to listen to him preach his opinions against capital punishment. He's also an active environmentalist(anti-mining and exploration). My favorite of his is [b]"The Rain Came Down".[/b] A song in support of the farmers loosing their land at sheriffs auctions. FARM AID |

I too like Tool. I thought that song Anema was how they felt about society in general, it's actually about Kalifornia(sums that state up real well), still cracks me up when I hear it(in a black humor sort of way). I still like to apply the theme to today's society, can't help it because that's the way I feel about the modern world sometimes.

I see many great songs here, but with the exception of the few patriotic ones I doubt any of them could come close to being the "greatest song ever written".
Captain oblivious, no one else has bit on it so I will comment on Wait and Bleed. I pretty much don't like slipknot or what they stand for, when I saw them live and they announced to the crowd that Surfacing was "your new national anthem" it pretty much pissed me off for good. Especially since Surfacing is just them chanting the f-word. Wait and Bleed is the only Slipknot song I give into liking because it is so damn good but to call it the best ever? I personally think My Way is a song that any self respecting man should hold dear. Elvis singing his American Trilogy is prolly the most beautiful patriotic composition I have ever heard, while the Star Spangled Banner could be sung completely off key and still be great. |
