I'd like to buy a few 30rd magazines, how do I know what to buy, there are different manufacturers, different followers, plastic aluminum,steel, domestic, imports. I know this probably sounds stupid, but I'm lost.

Center, Parsons, Okay, Labelle, Sanchez, ETC are all USGI contractors. You'll be happy with any of them. All USGI mags are aluminum. AS for green followers, you can buy them seperately and install them yourself. Spray the floorplate with WD40 and wait at least 10 minutes before removing, even if your mags are NIW. Be sure they are pre-ban. Post-ban will be marked on the mag body about 1/3 from the bottom with LEO only or military use only, or a date more recent than September 94.
