Combined with the increased propensity for violence ("reefer madness") it's a recipe for trouble. As legalization becomes more widespread, expect to see "weed bombs" in major American cities. |

Dude died Friday.
CAPISTRANO BEACH – A man died in a hospital Friday after battling burn injuries for more than five weeks ago from a suspected drug lab blast in the garage of a South County home, officials said. Lee Haumea Sermur, 31, of Capistrano Beach, died at 2:56 p.m. Friday at Western Medical Center in Santa, according to the coroner’s office. Sermur died from respiratory burn injuries sustained from breathing in hot gases and smoke, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi. Officials responded to an explosion and fire in a home in the 26000 block of Vista del Mar on Nov. 5. The fire spread to several neighboring homes and the explosion blew off the home’s garage door and several windows, authorities said. Investigators said the explosion took place in the garage after Sermur attempted to extract THC from marijuana to create concentrated cannabis oil, known as hash oil.... http://www.ocregister.com/articles/garage-593447-died-home.html |

Yep.
http://www.krem.com/news/crime/234624691.html Investigators believed the car Sayman was driving Aug. 4 exploded near Garland and Wall shortly after he had attempted to illegally extract THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) from marihuana while inside the vehicle. Authorities said Sayman attempted to make the strong marijuana derivative known as “butane honey oil” by using butane lighter fluid to extract the substance from the marijuana plant materials. This weed oil is incredibly new, it's only been around for the past 3-5 years, and the internet is filled to the brim with doorknobs who just found out about it who attempt to make the oil but then blow their houses up. |

Whatever happened to rolling it and smoking it? Not cool enough? Geez, kids these days.

I was first in to a "weed lab" explosion last month at work. At first we thought it was meth. Blew the entire wall of their apartment off. The retards thought they could show up at the hospital two blocks away with severe burns two blocks away and the police wouldn't make the connection.

I love these threads.
Everyone who knows nothing about the subject comes in and quotes facts they just made up. It truly is amusing. |

No... really. <Insert weed jokes right about here> This is budder (If that's a COC violation IM me or kill it. If you are going to make BHO, you had better make that shit outside. If not, death is awaiting you. Or at least severe burns.

Damnit I went and got old. I don't have the firs clue what this is or how it works. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that anything involving butane is a fire hazard.

Bullshit. My friends and I could get that shit as far back as early 80's in the DC area, and it was not a new thing back then. |

There are other completely safe methods to make hash that don't involve butane.

I saw a "lockup" episode where a girl had severe burns from trying to make BHO. It blew up, burning her and her BF and killing their buddy. They both got manslaughter, IIRC.
One of pot's few redeeming qualities is that it's relatively harmless, hopefully stoners won't start blowing up their trailers and sect. 8 apt.'s like tweakers do. |

There are all kinds of ways, but people are getting into BHo because of the popularity of vaporizers. Especially, low profile, pen like vaporizers. Kind of hard to be discreet with a bowl of morracan, or Nepalese hash. Or just plain bubble hash. |

There's a video about hash oil on Vice.com. It shows the proper way you're supposed to make it starting at 3:10, it's pretty cool.

I believe you can produce dabs without using butane if you're going to go as far as looking for hash oil.

I believe you can produce dabs without using butane if you're going to go as far as looking for hash oil. BHO is a stronger product which is why they use butane. You can use alcohol, other solvents, bubble bags and ice bath (use an old washing machine), or a tumbler. With the exception of some other solvents BHO is the most potent method. Its also simple and cheap. |

No, it's been around for decades. High Times used to run ads for something called the Isomerizer back in the 70's. Same concept. |
