Ok I was needed primer feed tubes, but man I cant afford the 20 bucks a piece price. So I figured Id DIY.

First ya need tubing, the tubes used are 5/16 dia and for large .215 will just squeek by. And for small .183 will work good. So off to McMaster Carr and order the following.

89965K39 For the Large primer tube
89965K46 For Small primer tube
Also your going to need Hairpins (3/63 dia 1inch long)!
that's part number 92375A005

Ok once the tube is here we need to cut into a smidg over 14 inch chunks. that gives us a bit of room to clean up the ends.



now into the lathe for a quick face off of both ends to give a nice square face. Im using a bolt facing tool and running form inside to out.



Once we have that we need to drill for cross pins I used a number #45 bit and I used a center drill to spot the mark and then cross drilled it. You will need to drill both ends (to keep the primers form falling out). the bottom needs to be at 1 inch from the end and the top needs to be a bit under 1/4 from the end.



OK after that you need to select 2 drills that fit in the tube snug but your still able to move them. You will use these to de-bur the cross drilled holes. De-bur the outside with a file and you are all done, Well after a wash in hot soapy water.

so total price for the project?
5.64 for pins
12.51 for the large tube
24.08 for the small tube
so 42.23 for 10 tubes.

Somewhere I have some brass pickup tubes.  Got them from an old-timer who had a couple really nice star presses.

He took some brass tubes, cut them to length, and the cut 2 slots in the end of the tube.  bent in the piece a little and they work just as well as the dillon tubes with the plastic.

Very nice! Are you using an automatic primer feeder with these tubes? That's the only way that I can see getting around the need for the plastic pickup parts.

With careful jeweler's saw, make a slit on the diameter, a bit less than half the diameter. Widen it to just a bit smaller than an o-ring.  Stretch the o-ring over the tube so the part of the o-ring in the slit intrudes on the diameter.  Deburr well, then slip the o-ring into the slit.



Works great and easily replaced.

Nice idea. RCBS will send you brand new parts if there is ever a problem. They've replaced things for me which, in all honesty, I've messed up. They've even sent me extra parts fpr my old Ammo Master Progressive which may need replacing some time in the future.
