Starting feeling old after #3. Remember bringing #6 for school lunches also (squeeze its) |
Out of all of them, I think the Back To The Future one had the most impact. Watching it as a kid, 1955 was SO long ago and a whole 'nother world.
The older I get the more I understand why our parents never feel as old as we think they are. |

They still sell Pepsi Twist in Canada. I bought four of them while I was there in February.

Frighteningly effective.
I want a time machine and a fountain of youth...right now. |
ughhhh, and I just was feeling good about my self from the "how old were you in 1986 thread"
I was 2 btw. |
I had that happen to me the first time a couple years ago. I was working an auto insurance claim and when I first reviewed it I saw one of the drivers was born in '93 and my immediate reaction was "What the hell was a kid that young doing behind the wheel? Did he steal their parents car and go Joy riding??" Then i did the math.... Shit, that kid is 16 and has a Drivers License.
I'm 28 currently. |
Pepsi Twist was pure shit
Nickelodeon was fucking awesome in the early 90's. |
Quoted: I don't like you. Quoted: I hate you Quoted: Goddammit. Jesus...bunch of grumpy old men here.... |
I'm only 21, and most of those on that list still apply to me...wow.
I never even noticed that butterfinger bb's went away. Those were awesome. |
OP,
If you're not old enough to already have it, I hope you find your first gray pube this weekend. |

Quoted:
Kentucky methhead clan. Well guess it's time to go take a look at the Miley Cirus thread |
I heard bon jovi on the classic rock station today...and now this. FUCK

That actually makes me kind of sad, as those felt like real prosperous times and they aren't coming back.

Back in the early 90's, I looked like this-
Now I look like this- Getting old sucks, but it sure as hell beats the alternative. |
Quoted: Honestly that wouldn't be that bad of an idea. They should remake Back To The Future. Plus they can use the Chevy Volt or a prius instead of the Delorean....don't know if the battery can generate the 1.21 gigawatts though

Good grief –– that stuff's still recent history. Wait until you get a few more decades under your belt, and then you can talk about feeling old.
How about: - remembering when the first family in your neighborhood got a color television. - remembering when the first family in your neighborhood got a stereo. - remembering when seat belts were an optional upgrade on your new car, and air conditioning was rare in both cars and homes. - remembering the first of those little transistor radios which would actually fit in a shirt pocket. - remembering the Cuban Missile Crisis, and Alan Shepard's historic flight, and the day Kennedy was assassinated, and these new bands on the AM radio called the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, and eight-track tapes replacing 45-rpm record players in cars, and this new fast-food restaurant called McDonald's, and... / old-fart musings |

Hi C Ecto Cooler, Squeeze It, and the Fresh Prince ones made me feel old.
I think Jurassic park being 19 years old has the biggest effect of me in that list.
I was 9 when that came out and I remember thinking "This is the coolest thing that ever has been and ever will be". And realizing it has been almost 20 years puts it in perspective |
