Aim has them for 9 or 10 bucks for 1911 mags. Are they worth it to stock up on? I've only got three 1911 mags currently and need a bigger pile of them.

I haven't had any problems with my CProducts AR15 mags, so I really wanted to try these.  Search in the 1911 section and you will find out that most people have problems with them.

Buy but be aware that CS is all but nonexistant. Before all the craziness happened with them I bought many AR mags, they all work fine but unless it was a smoking deal I would now stay away.

Thanks for the feedback, I guess I'll steer clear.  Damn, it would have been nice to get some good stainless steel, 8 rounders for that cheap.

I bought a 15 round C-Products 6.5 Grendel mag. I don't have a 6.5 Grendel yet so I don't know how well the mag works, but I hope it at least works.

When they first started... well I guess were first reorganized technically. Then they "reorganized" again but left many in the cold with shit products so now I stay clear. I got some of the quality ones in that specific timeframe before now.

I got one from them. After that, I decided to never buy a magazine from them again.

Piece of shit.

Wow that's wild.

I bought 3 of their 40 round AR mags a few years ago and they've worked great.....but now I know why people looked at me funny when I told them they were C-products.

Did their quality go to shit or something? I can't keep track of all the vendors around here.

No idea, but I stick with Wilson Combat or Chip McCormick mags. I've never had one fail on me yet,
unless I fuck it up.

Same thing with me, I have heard bad things about the 1911 mags and I wouldn't look at the new Companies mags after the fiasco.

FWIW, I never bought mags during the madhouse selling times, I trust very few companies to keep up QC when product is sold before it's ever made and backorders are in the thousands or tens of thousands.

With the company gone you can finally say what we really thought.

I posted a "how to correct" the 9mm mags that was tagged for a little while when people were having problems (bad welds, bad followers, springs in wrong, hole cut wrong, etc) Their QC was bad.

I sent back 3 batches of 5.56 mags and all the while larry and chad telling me there were no problems, see pics above. I had to pay my own shipping as well, so I could have bought 3x as many DH mags.

Their coatings are crap. You can see from the pic above how the quality is all over the place. Again I posted about it and chad and larry telling me it couldn't happen, actually calling me a liar even after posting pics. This was what got them in trouble anyways.

I also have a couple 7.62 mags that you can see how the feed leeps are not lined up and the mag welds are suspect. I didnt' even bother to try and fix them, as I knew I would have causalities when I bought them.

I think they tried hard, but their product was crap. Their CS was okay but buying a product and sending it back all the time is not a good product.

I will say my 5.45 mags (ONLY 1st batch release) have done well. But I have had significant problems with all their mags I have tried. I have also posted about it, and its in the acrchives.

Here is the archived thread that we did on C-products 1911 magazines a couple of years ago. C Products sent mags out and several members here tested them with less than stellar results......Caveat emptor do not confuse C-products 1911 mags with the 30 round AR Mags. The 1911mags were a new venture at the time and consistently almost all of us who tested them had issues.....

I bought a bunch of shitty CProducts AR mags from .44Mag awhile back. I traded them to a friend, at a loss, for some of his D&H mags that had issues. Just less issues though.

The 1911 magazine attempt they made was nothing short of a tragedy.

They put on a really good show of pretending to be a legitimate company that knew what they were doing, then one day they pretty much just disappeared with no warning.  Now if you need customer service, you're completely screwed.

I got the impression that it was a couple of well meaning bubbas who rented some machining equipment but didn't really know what they were doing, but damnit they tried!

This.

I was part of a group buy and have a dozen of these mags and they all work perfectly and so do 99% of the ones that were shipped (a bulk= 144) when we bought them from .44mag.com before C-Prod was bought.  I only remember one or two guys complaining and it was only about one or two mags, which out of 144 isn't bad.

I have about 40+ of their mags and have ZERO trouble with them...ZERO!!! I like P-Mags better!!!

OP asked about 1911 mags not AR mags.....I have never had an issue with the AR mags ever...the 1911 mags are a different story....

Never used any of thier 1911 mags have a bunch of their AR 40 rounders and some of the 30's that are good. I have always used the Chip Mcormick mags for my 1911's with no problems and they are so inexpensive I cant justify mucking about with new untried designs. I applaud the original c-products for making the effort but sometimes the best of intentions has the worst results.

all of my stainless steel 5.56X45 magazines work fine

All of my stainless steel 5.45X39 magazines work fine.

The aluminum 5.56X45 magazines had a 30% failure rate (misfeeds when the next to last round in the magazine attempts to feed - this happens whether you load 30 or 20 or 10 rounds in the magazine).  The two attempts to contact C-Products for help were never answered.  I buy PMags now.

Never had a problem with their aluminum mags.  Only time I've seen issues, it's with their steel mags.

I think the hate is just internet "me-too-look how cool I am" passive aggressive faggot dog pile action.

They were not cool enough in the era of the P-mag heyday, and they had the reputation as kind of a shady outfit do to their communication techniques, but I don't think it affected their products.

It was arfcommers at their worst really.  And then Lawyers at their worst ended up shitting up the company.

As I have not owned a 1911 in years, not sure what the mecgar mags run for but I had good luck with them.
