I've loved the Steelers since I was a kid back in 1976.
At times, I have considered switching teams, like when Coach Tomlin and Dan Rooney practically kissed Barry's feet and gave him a jersey during and after the election. Occasionally, players like Mendenhall say or do ludicrous things that make me dislike them and again question how I can continue to support the team. Then I think of the good guys like Rocky Bleier, Lynn Swann, Jerome Bettis, Terry Bradshaw, Dermonti Dawson, Hines Ward, and others that have been class acts on and off the field, and I continue to support the black and gold. I am not going to let an idiot who will be gone in a few years make me hate the team that I've loved since childhood. |
