I just got my Winchester Model 70 Laredo back from the gunsmith. I had the action trued and had it rebarreled with a Lilja 1 in 10" twist 27" #7 taper barrel put on it. Minimum SAAMI spec chamber. Caliber is .300 Win. Mag. The action and barrel were bedded to the original HS Precision stock. I added  Nightforce/Baer tapered bases and a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22X56 with the R2 reticle. I can't wait to get to the range and shoot it.

Did it begin life as a .300WinMag, or did you have the new barrel chambered for .300WinMag as a replacement for another caliber?

I bought it new as a .300 Win Mag. It had a 24" barrel plus the BOSS system on it.  After 800+ rounds, I got tired of the copper mine that was the factory barrel. It was ruff and slow, I could barely make respectable magnum velocity with it. I was getting warmed over .30-06 ballistics.It would shoot 1MOA average though. I have great hopes for consistant .5MOA out of it now.
