After waiting 2 months for this company to get awarded a contract I finally got a phone call explaining my start date and all the pre employment jazz.

I realized it really isn't a big deal, but this is my first position that is actually salaried over six figures. I have been over the mark for a while when including other sources of income, but that really doesn't count (in my mind). I know it's no big deal to make six figures especially the lower end of them, but given my age and background I think it's cool.

ARFCOM, have a digital beer on me.

Annoy a liberal. Succeed anyway.

Congratulations! It's a big milestone.

Of course, now when you see the taxes, phase out of deductions, loss of child tax credit etc, you'll be wondering why you even bothered.

But, millions on welfare thank you (well, they don't, but you know what I mean).

Yes, as soon as I get my first pay check. I have been living off my saving since December.

Also, I live in Ashburn, VA so it really isn't a big deal here either of the 8 Skyline GTRs sold in VA 6 are in this town. My buddy has one of them. Our county pays more in income tax than all other VA counties combined (or something like that)

Very true, however; under 27 years old, no kids, and the GF makes close to the same. Life is pretty good.

70 miles north of Dallas here.  I take home $5000.00 after taxes, 401k, health insurance, pre tax medical account,  etc.
Since I don't have any debt including mortage and my tax is only $500 (after ag-exemption),
$5000.00 goes real long ways.  We save about $1500 to $2000 a month.

VW, it may not be as cool as the skyline, but it is the MKIV so it has a real gearbox. Not a whole lot of work done except custom exhaust, brake kit, weight reduction, and wheels/tires.

Don't worry. I created my first investment portfolio at 19 and have been doing pretty well so far. At my age you don't get to that level of income by being stupid.

Here they are, and a video attempt to capture the exhaust sound. LAME!!! I know.

I would have added the video, but the wind really ruins the exhaust sound and the other one I got stuck behind a cop and had to play it cool because apparently it's illegal here in VA. However, I had no choice to change it out.

ETA: if you can edit video to remove background noise I will send it to you. I don't have the ability to do any of that stuff, but would like a clean version.
