Look like it is about an ex-Marine sniper, getting framed etc...

Looks like it could be good.

looks like a total ripoff of that one that one of the with the black actor ( i think he is related to the wayne's borthers) where he gets framed for a political assasination. he was a marine in that movie too, man, i wish i could remember his name,

I cant remember the name, but this sounds like a complete theft of a movie made a few years ago.

Im still gonna see it though!

It's from Stephen Hunter's book Point of Impact.

Marky Mark as Gunny Bob Lee Swagger? There is no God.

I don't mind Mark Whalburg that much... he's done good in a few movies I like (The  Big Hit was a funny one).  This looks like it could be a kick ass movie, if they pull off the gunplay realistically.   I think I'll be going to see it.

Mark Wahlberg Lashes Out At Charlton Heston
5 June 2000 (WENN)
Mark Wahlberg and George Clooney hit out at Charlton Heston by suggesting the actor should win best villain award at this year's MTV MOVIE AWARDS - because of his notorious love for guns. Clooney and Wahlberg attended the prestigious movie awards to present the best villain category on Saturday. And Wahlberg stunned the star-studded audience by suggesting Heston would be a good candidate because he heads up the National Rifle Association. Wahlberg says, "I believe Charlton Heston is America's best villain because he loves guns so much. Maybe he should get the award for being president of the National Rifle Association." The award finally went to Mike Myers for his Dr. Evil role in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999).

THen he makes money off movies where he uses guns and saves the day.  Kind of hypocritical?

But then again, thats typical liberal lifestyle.

I hope to hell this movie bombs so as to send a loud and clear message to shittywood to not have antigun stars star in movies adapted from books by progun writers or with progun themes nor have antis as directers or producers for they tend to screw it up. I would like to see the original script for every action, crime drama, western, and war picture made over the last three decades just to see what they were like before the egomaniacs and pc thugs got a hold of them.

I read the book - awesome! The movie? Marky mark is a a POS ex thug did time for a racially motivated attack on a asian guy - wonder if he is still on roids? 200 pounds of dynamite with a 1" fuse is how he is described...

Glover is possibly the biggest POS in Hollyweird (think FAG in Team America)

It figures that Hollyweird would pull some shit like this - - those two asswipes will wreck the movie for me - but I will probably watch it anyway

All of the Bob lee Swager ("Bob the nailer") books are awesome.  I even liked the ones about Bobs dad (Hot springs ect.).  I really hope this is a good movie that does the book justice.

Not to hijack, but I also think that someone needs to make a movie out of Tom Clancy's(sp?) Rainbow six.

E.T.A.  I just watched the trailer, it may make an ok movie, but I think it looks like they tried to "sexy" it up from the book too much.

I just hope it doesn't do for us what Fast and the Furious did for the car guys.  I envision all the wanna be snipers coming out of the woodwork after this movie, and the media thinking every yahoo with a Remington and a scope can make 2000+ yard shots.

Hopefully it doesn't backfire on us...

Yeah...
I really got my hopes up when I saw the title of this thread thinking it was a movie about his book, and this guy...

When they make movies based on excellent books they really should poll the readers. marky mark is not "Bob the nailer" IMHO I think Willem Dafoe would have been a better choice based on Swaggers character in the books. Oh well.

The rumor was that originally Tommy Lee Jones was going to get the role as Bob Lee Swagger.

Now THAT would have been a good choice.

Tommy Lee Jones is just as, if not more, antigun than Wahlburg.

But...but....he was born and raised in Texas! How can that be? Maybe it was being roommates with Al (I invented the internet) Gore at Harvaad.

That aside, I still think he would have been a good choice for the role.

I thinlk the movie you refer to is "Most Wanted" with Keenan Ivory Wayans and Jon Voight.

THe movie was not that goo IMHO, and right now, I'm steering clear of all military related movies for now, unless they (Hollyweird) do something along the lines of The "Great Raid", which was decent or "Blackhawk Down" (it was awesome). But if Hollyweird is making movies like "Home Of The Brave" and "The Marine", I'll stay home and watch the Military Channel instead.

Besides "Mail Call" is more fun than any of those movies.

They might as well just cast Christian Bale as all American bad-asses and Jason Statham as all the British bad-asses.

And not to mention plays the roll of a patriot of sorts.  Makes me want to puke.  The movie looks decent.  It will give it 4 stars for gun porn or at least the trailer.

Looks like it will be a good one.  I will at least wait for it to come out on DVD.  Might even break down and see it in the theater.  On another note, they got it backward on the trailer......the dog doesnt get the beer out of the fridge, the woman does.
