Go on youtube and do a search. I bet you there is a video to show you how to do it. I did a starter on an old accord and it was a pitta. Had to pull one of the axles out. Hopefully the civic is not the same.

Pull the air cleaner and air box, that will give you enough room to get to it. Takes maybe thirty minutes. Piece o cake.

I pulled the air box, still couldn't see the starter.  Had to put it on stands and pull the right front tire. I did most of it with a super long extension and ratchet.
I swear I am going to strangle the next Japanese engineer I meet. Took me about 2 hours total. I didn't even need to pull the air box. Slid it out behind the right front strut. Anybody know what flat rate is for that? |

OP and anyone else,
if you are going to work on your own car, bite the bullet and get a factory shop manual. Lots are available on Ebay or Helm. It will pay for itself the first time you use it. |
