I'd see if you can find a better deal with just the 18-555 lens and skip the 55-200. It's not a very good lens---even the 75-300 cheapo is better.

Screw all of them, just buy a 50 F1.8 lens and be happy with that!!!

Just make sure the online place has a decent reputation. Some are great, others not so much. You will enjoy the camera, I am sure!

Damn! If I had read that I would have never ordered from them. Bought my Digital Rebel from them a long time ago as well as a bad ass lens. Guess I got lucky. |

They attempted to tell me that Canon cameras do not come with batteries or a charger and that I'd have to buy one from them at the tune of $135. "Cancel my order now.. thanks for calling." -d |

Rebel XT was just rated better than the D50 in Popular Photo and Imaging... I'd stick with the XT -d |

Try Beach Camera. I just bought my cam from them, and they got 99% of good reviews throughout the intarweb.

That magazine makes some questionable statements at times. Such as the D2X having the best high ISO noise control (the D2Hs and Canon 1D series generally have better control). Or stating that the Rebel XT isn't a challenger to the 20D. I didn't realize that Canon competes against itself.  Also not that the Rebel XT is about $300 more than the D50. A better and more fair comparison would be the D70. Even then, the D50 gives the XT a run for its money.
