At an appearance in Nevada, gun-ban presidential candidate Barack Obama told his followers:

"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want to you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face. And if they tell you that, ‘Well, we’re not sure where he stands on guns,’ I want you to say, ‘He believes in the Second Amendment.’"
Obama’s voting record, however, tells an entirely different story. Far from being a supporter of the Second Amendment, Barack Obama has done everything in his power to limit and outright destroy the rights of American gun owners. NRA’s Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) has designed a new, comprehensive, and very informative Web site - www.GunBaNObama.com - to serve as a resource for the facts on Barack Obama’s Second Amendment stance.

The mere mention of Barack Obama’s name is enough to convince gun owners across the country to join the only organization that reliably defends their rights – the NRA. This year perhaps more than any other in history, we need each and every person to take action to help save our rights.

"Setting an example is not the main means of influencing others; it is the only means." -- Albert Einstein

As always, a great reminder.

ARFCOMers, if you're signing up new members I strongly suggest using ARFCOM's NRA Membership Link

NRA sees ARFCOM's campaign ID# (XR018983) and knows the new member is signing up from here which hopefully raises their EBR awareness...or at least that's what I hope!

I will start using our web site. I am getting ALL my family and friends even if I have to help subsidize the membership.

PS. I have been a team member for over a week but nothing has changed on my profile FWIW.

If obama feels so strongly about disarming American citizens let's see him disarm his secret service detail.

If Barack Obama is such a believer in the 2nd Amendment why are gun sales thru the roof?

I clicked on the link and it shows a multi-tool, didn't see the Heston knife.

Got Link?
It could happen. After all, in the documentary Red Dawn it was a small group of High School kids that fought commies.

I sent in my application to join almost 2 months back and I still haven't heard anything back... the check still hasn't cleared the bank either, wondering if I should cancel the check and re-join. If an NRA recruiter is reading this and can help me out IM me.

Yea he's for the second amendment, except for those instances where the govt can "kindof" infringe and regulate. We can own guns, but only cirtain ones depending on where you live. "some are more equal than others." -animal farm, good book about communism/sociallism.

I received my membership (3 yr) packet about two weeks ago. I opted to get the NRA knife but I don't remember if it was a Heston commemorative knife. In any case, I'm glad to have joined again after a 15 year hiatus. We need the NRA to lobby for our rights.

I finally gave up on the NRA. First of all, they will call you repeatedly if your membership lapses as mine did recently. I got as many as 3 calls a day for nearly 2 weeks. I told them that if they called again I wouldn't renew and the next call came in less than an hour. I was shocked. Clearly they aren't using our money very wisely if they can afford to pester members with excessive phone calls.

The other thing is I don't think the NRA is taking a firm enough stand of the second amendment. I've heard seen the NRA change their approach and language a lot over the years as they seek to passify the anti-gunners. When the NRA starts talking about the 2nd Amendment and "sporting use" I just want to vomit. I've even watched a video where one of the members of the NRA executive board and I beleive a former LEO (this has been a couple years ago) said in a speach that things like hi-cap magazines should only be for police, that there is no legitimate reason for a private citizen to have more than that. (again the hi-cap is a anti-gun word- should be full capacity vs. reduced capacity - Hi-capacity makes it sound MORE than normal, rather than just full design capacity.

Anyway, I just signed up with GOA and JPFO and I'm certainly not jewish. But they seem to be getting less money but staying more true to the fight than the nra.

just my $1.29 ( 2 cents adjusted for inflation)

Fine. Your choice. But I think a lot of us NRA members on ARFCOM get tired of this old saw.

More of us EBR guys in the NRA is what it needs
TO MAKE IT MOVE OUR WAY!!!

I applaud the GOA and JPFO. But NRA is the big gun in this fight with (I'd imagine now) over 4.5 million members. The NRA needs to become more uncompromising...agreed. That's precisely why I and many other ARFCOMers are members.

CAll them up(877)NRA-2000. Same thing happened to one of my friends. They said they were backed up by so many new members thanks to JObama. He got his card and other stuff about 2 weeks later.

Weird. Mine did lapse. I got no calls and hardly more than 2 mailers if that. Anyway did renew, and ever went ahead and did Life!
Now I'm doing the GOA. Thinking about Life there too.

I def Recommend PPL think about GOA
