THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT got the bug and just bought my first AR and looking for a beginner training DVD that assumes i know which end of the gun to hold, but not much more than that. no military or police background. i want to build a solid foundation and not ready to put the $ into training courses yet. is magpul's art of tactical carbine the way to go? can i assume that vol 1 starts w the basic? any better training tools? thx for the advice. |

I would say it would be money well spent. Just practice at home with an unloaded AR to get the motions down and familiarize with its controls.
Just go zero it and have some fun with it shoot cans and what not for now and then start "training". |

It is a great video and well worth the money. Whatever you do though, don't assume because you watched the video and practiced the drills that you don't need to take actual training classes. I have seen more than one person think they are the cock of the walk after watching the DVD and practicing at home, only to be "that guy" at a carbine class, myself included
