Defensive Pistol Fundamentals class
January 16th
Dwight, Kansas

This class will focus on individual practical application of defensive shooting. We will work to improve your shooting ability over a wide range of exercises that focus on safe and effective combat shooting skills adhering to the fundamentals of marksmanship.

What will be covered -
• Mindset
• Grip Development
• Trigger Control
• Stance and Positions
• Mechanics of the Draw
• Reloading Efficiently
• Clearing Malfunctions
• Moving and Shooting
• Multiple Target Engagement
• Support Hand Shooting

This is NOT a concealed carry class, this is meant to make you a more effective shooter as a responsible armed citizen. If you already have your conceal carry permit, choose constitutional or open carry, or just want to become a better shot with a pistol this will help to give you the knowledge and practical experience you need to do so.

You will need a functional pistol (preferably a full frame) in an acceptable defensive caliber 9mm or larger. We will be focusing on the modern semi automatic pistol.

You will also need ear and eye protection, a minimum of three magazines or more, a magazine pouch, a good holster such as a kydex or leather holster meant for your particular handgun, and a good gun belt. Please, no micro pistols, derringers, cross draw, shoulder holsters, or competition rigs. This is a fundamentals class not a concealed carry class.

Dress for the season as we will be outdoors on the range for the entire class. You will need to be able to draw from your holster so make sure you can do this with your jacket or coat on. Class length will depend on the number of shooters and the attention needed for each shooter but expect it to last at least eight hours.

Total amount of ammo needed is 400 rounds however, more is always a good idea.

I will need a minimum of five shooters to carry out this class and a maximum of ten will be allowed. Cost is $150.00 per person. Please pay in advance if you wish to reserve your slot. If weather becomes too bad we will move the class to a later date if needed.
