One day Rifle/Pistol home defense, room clearing, sheltering in place, movement to and securing family members etc.

Starts slow, basic movements, weapons manipulation, weapon/unarmed strikes, moves into basic walk throughs, room clearing with targets, force on force room clearing, and finally live fire on steel utilizing learned movement principles.

Course will be instructed by myself, an Irq/Afg Combat veteran and former USMC MOUT instructor.

175$ for course, 50$ non refundable deposit must be made to secure spot. Only 8 spots available.

Gear required, Rifle, Pistol at least 2 mags each, 180 rounds rifle, 100 rounds pistol. Please keep in mind that this is a very physical course. This is a course focusing on tactics and not marksmanship, the range portion is secondary to the dry run fundamentals.

Would love to attend, but I couldn't justify to my wife for staying down there for an extra week because we're supposed to go to Florida the week after CW.

For anyone wanting to attend RustedAce's course, I have not personally taken his course but I highly recommend him. He's a sound instructor with a decade of real time operational experience under his belt. I would pay twice as much to attend his course.

I've taken a couple of his courses and can attest that his level of instruction is top notch. Due to the small size of his classes, he's able to point out deficiencies and fix them in an individual setting. The skills you will learn from this course will stick with you and I feel the cost of admission is well worth it. Whether you're a novice or professional, you will enjoy this class.

No cut off date, just open sign up till the spots fill up.

Basically standing up all day, weapons strikes, quick position shifts, maintaining a good fighting stance while moving through the house. etc.

No pushups or anything like that

, but most people end up very tired by the end of the day.

I do maybe 2-3 a year depending on my deployment schedule.

New Orleans, Jackson MS, and Baton Rouge are all about equal distance, I would recommend New Orleans just to enjoy the city if you are gonna spend a couple of days in town.

Semi-auto rifle required.

Automatic pistol recommended over revolver, but not required.

Going to give a BIG +1 to this. I've done 2 of his courses. Enjoyed them and learned a lot. It is physical like described and I was definitely tired at the end of the day. My wife attended this course last year and she was able to complete it and she learned a lot as well.

The best way to get there is to take I55 to the Osyka exit, take 584 into Liberty, then 569 south to Street rd. this keeps you on paved roads the whole way.

I will have a sign out, turn down the gravel road, and about a half mile in you will get to the parking area.

Please show up by 9:30 AM and we will go until right after dark. So please pack lunch/dinner if you want it, I have fridge and microwave out there.

Should be able to get down the gravel road without 4wheel drive. If you are worried about it you can park on the outer paved road, but the gravel road should be alright.

Indeed. I have grand plans for a comprehensive review, but it will have to wait until tomorrow as I just got home.

BTW, how's this for a perfect cap on the day: I got back to the hotel room and Heartbreak Ridge was on AMC. Best horrible movie ever.
