My son and I did a little running & gunning yesterday and we slipped a couple sized, empty cases into each magazine. Anyone have a reason not to do this? I thought it worked slick for failure drills (double feed and failure to feed).

We do it all the time to cause type 3 malfunctions.  No harm to the gun.

Do it all the time both with dummy rounds and also unsized cases. The only way to learn malfunction clearing is to do it.
