THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I HIGHLY recommend that you check out both of the links in my sig line. I was at the course this past weekend, and it was great! I have been shooting guns for many years, and have even competed in some action pistol matches, but this was my first formal training class. Jay Gibson and Steve Carey were the instructors. While I have no reference for comparison, it is easy to tell when instruction is high quality and when something is garbage. I would be highly surprised if I ever find equal or higher quality than Jay and Steve. The phrase: "you don't know what you don't know' is highly appropriate for me. I learned more in two days than I've learned in ten years about using a handgun, and especially so regarding fighting with a handgun. The drills and techniques were very well thought out and explained. Each exercise allowed for sufficient practice and feedback so that they will be easy to apply when practicing at the ranges where I shoot. The points that resonated with me the most were: Practice shooting in all imaginable scenarios...while moving to cover when possible, shooting from around cover, shooting from standing/kneeling/and lying positions, DO NOT STAND STILL WHILE RELOADING, and to scan the area after shooting before holstering weapon...ALWAYS. Who I would recommend this class to: Anyone who has a handgun, or carries a handgun, or is considering getting a handgun...basically everyone. In fact, this course is so good, it's worth repeating. I give this course an overall rating of A+. My only regret is that I was on the fence for so long before finally attending an instruction course. Now I consider Tactical Response to be a crucial piece of my continuing education for firearms training, preparedness, and overall mindset. ETA: The other students were great. It was a fun group to be around. Blake |

I completed this class yesterday. It was my first professional classes I will be attending. They were professional and have a great sense of humor. The course was well formatted and kept us constantly busy. If we were not shooting we were reloading and rehydrating. I am thankful I did not have to experience Tim's IV fluid transfusion.
Regardless of if you are a fan of James Yeager or not (some people don't like him unsure why) he provides a great service to us all and we should train with him or at least like minded individuals as him. |

Most people hope that when bullets start flying...they, or their teammates/partner DON'T think like he did. 5 seconds with Google can clarify that for you. |

Disagree:no one is perfect.
He is a good man and excellent instructor. I have taken several of his courses and he and his crew are top quality. They are now doing training in Wisconsin, either in Racine or Germantown (north of Milwaukee). F |

Life or death situations have a way of showing you what you are made of. He showed everyone his true self that day. Pretty tough to get kicked out of Iraq in '05 yet he figured out how. You can fake it all day long on a flat range, can't when the bullets start coming back. You are either born with a warrior spirit or not. No amout of training or standing next to the targets while a student is shooting at it (yes, he's done that stupid shit to prove he was a dumb ass) can make you run towards the gunfire instead of hiding in a ditch. Proper combat mindset is better learned from someone who actually has one.

I won't complain about his actions that day but his AAR was so unprofessional that it's no wonder he had to start his own business to find employment.
You should see the website he made when he ran for office. I thought someone had made a spoof to make fun of him. |

Gentlemen,
Just a reminder that the subject of this thread is an AAR of a training class. |

Tactical Response has been in business since 1996. The gear store has been online since 2005. You may not like him or his classes they are not for everyone. Please do train somewhere though. The more training we have the better off we are as a society. |
