Sheepdog Solutions is a dynamic training company that draws from real world experience, competition success, and lots of time on the range trying out what works. Our lead instructor, Aaron Marco, is a Nationally ranked USPSA competition shooter, a member of the Heckler and Koch competition shooting team, a Law Enforcement Officer since 2006, and is currently assigned to SWAT. He is a firearms instructor for his agency and holds multiple instructor and training certifications. Our instructor cadre is comprised of experienced instructors who are all currently active in their professions. Most of our instructors are active SWAT personnel and are all TCLEOSE licensed Firearms Instructors. All of us are active in the competitive shooting sports and look forward to every day on the range. Our main goal is to give students a solid shooting foundation so that they may continue to improve their skills as they put more time behind a gun. We do this by teaching tested fundamentals and building subconscious competence through repetition. We have all trained with some of the best instructors in the country and have brought back skills and lessons we have learned and integrated them into a program that works.

Go read and see for yourself our latest class and its reviews..

We have put together an ambitious training schedule for the rest of 2012 and hope to fill it up with students who love to train. Sign up for training here!

The Sheepdog Solutions Foundation Rifle training course is our initial level offering for students of the rifle. The skills we teach are vital in competition, lethal force encounters, and improving your talent with a rifle. By learning proven skills in a formal setting, students will have a set of drills and concepts they can practice repeatedly to rapidly improve. This training will begin developing the subconscious mastery of rifle craft with the goal of techniques being instantly accessible when required under stress. We have had the good fortune of training with some of the best firearms instructors and tactical trainers in the world, and have come to appreciate how this training has developed us as shooters and tacticians. We now look forward to passing this training on to you.

We have several pistol classes coming up on the calendar.

Saturday, September 8, 2012 - Foundation Pistol
http://www.sheepdogsolutions.c...ion-pistol-20120908/

This course helps the beginning shooter gain a large foundation of knowledge they can use to improve their skills. It is also a great refresher for the professional shooter who wants to emphasize accuracy and refine their skill of the basics. We have had several well trained shooters come through who have spoken very highly of the course as a great emphasis of what makes you the best - practicing the basics under the watchful eye of competent instructors.

The concepts taught in this class will include:

    [*]Emergency medical considerations
    [*]Wounding ballistics
    [*]Equipment considerations
    [*]Maintenance
    [*]Tactical Mindset
    [*]Stance, grip, and trigger control
    [*]Draw stroke technique
[*]How much of your sights do you need to see for a successful engagement at varying distances
    [*]Shot calling
    [*]Stance, grip, & trigger control
[*]Recoil control and driving the gun
[*]Accuracy vs. speed and how to improve both
[*]Weapon manipulation (reloads, malfunction drills, correct loading/unloading sequence)
    [*]Target transitions
    [*]Multiple target engagements

Saturday, September 29-30, 2012 - Intermediate Pistol
http://www.sheepdogsolutions.c...ate-pistol-20120929/

The intermediate pistol course is our flagship course and our favorite one to teach. There is nothing quite like watching shooters confidence improve by hitting really small targets quickly and hitting from a LONG way away! The concepts taught in this class will include:

    [*]Emergency medical considerations
    [*]Wounding ballistics
    [*]Equipment considerations
    [*]Maintenance
    [*]Draw stroke technique and optimization
    [*]First shot "press out"
    [*]Stance, grip, and trigger control
[*]How much of your sights do you need to see for a successful engagement at varying distances
    [*]Shot calling
    [*]Stance, grip, & trigger control
[*]Accuracy versus Speed and how to improve both
[*]Weapon manipulation (reloads, malfunction drills, correct loading/unloading sequence)
[*]Positional shooting (Standing, Kneeling, Squatting, Seated, Prone, Supine, Modified Prone, etc)
    [*]Target transitions
    [*]Multiple target engagements
[*]Recoil control and driving the gun
    [*]Target engagement from 3-100 yards
    [*]Moving and shooting
    [*]Working with cover

Found you guys on facebook. You are pretty close to where I live so I might have to check out one of your classes sometime. I am looking at various pistol classes you offer; approximately how many rounds will be expended in your classes starting from the entry level to the moderate?

A PM will work as a response as well (I don't check this section that much).

Please come on down... usually we estimate about 400 rounds of ammunition per day. That may change depending on the pace of the class, but we have yet to have anyone run out.

That being said, we have three classes left on our schedule for the year. We'd love to see you out at one of them!

http://www.sheepdogsolutions.com/training/

Intermediate Rifle - November 10-11
Foundation Pistol - December 2
Intermediate Pistol - December 8-9

The weather has taken a turn for the nice around these parts, so no more standing on the range cooking! Come end your year with us..
