Try to stay awake during the 1970's videos.
Really the written test is no problem, and the shooting portion I could have aced by throwing some sharp sticks at the targets. |

Thanks. I overheard while in the sheriffs office when picking up a pistol purchase permit that the movies hadn't changed in a while.

The movies are narrated by the weirdest looking guy. They are the most boring movies you're ever going to see. Try not to fall asleep (we had ours right after lunch).
If you fail the shooting you REALLY don't need to be carrying a pistol. The test is easy and we went over most of the answers beforehand. ETA I took mine at Shooters in Belmont, and Robert D. Raeford's son taught the course. He managed to inject quite a bit of humor into a very boring class. |

Passed the course with flying colors. Missed one question on the written test, because my simple incompetence got the best of me. Shooting portion was passed 100%. Put only three rounds outside the vitals circle, which is pretty good for me. Occasional rogue brass hit me in the hat or flew across my vision and skewed my shot. Thanks for all the heads up, fyi I am in Raleigh, NC.
