THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I have a 10/22 and a Mark II. Are irons OK, or should I invest in RDO's for both guns? Any other advice is appreciated. |

Maybe this question is in the wrong forum? I'm surprised no one has done this before.

I use a sig 522 at some courses. it runs better than 10/22 and uses regular ar type magazine same muscle memory as putting mags in and out of ar. for pistol i run glock 17 with advantage arms 22 conversion. Tap and rack just like real 9mm.

I'm thinking the AR-15 upper (TacSol) would be even more familiar (muscle memory.) Looks like Spike's is out of the .22 upper business. |

have not had luck with 22 ar upper; either you don't have live round ejection or last round bolt hold open? tried tacsol and cmmg. when i insert mag hard the bolt will close some times but not hard enough that i get a misfire. My sig 522 just runs and runs. glock aa 22 conversion runs great on mini mags.

we actually just did this a couple of weeks ago. Very fun course. 2 rifle stages, a pistol stage, then a pistol / rifle combined stage. A lot of the people shot their Ruger Mark I, II, III, or M&P 22. I used my P22 for it, but got to shoot one of the M&P 22 after. WOW, that thing was impressive. I ended up ordering one. Rifles were a mix of 10/22, dedicated 22 AR platforms and AR with conversions. The people who scored the better times had red dots on their rifles, and iron sights on their pistols. It was a lot of fun and I would recommend it to everyone. Plus its a good way to get others involved in shooting.

I don't use it but it is just something that is there that the 9 doesn't have. I wish they would also have found a magazine design that has the same fit as a full sized mag for use of all the same equipment. |
