My pistol instructor, who shoots at Grand Master and at times with Scott Jarret. et al, in national competitions, had me get the CED7000. I was just opening the book now to try to figure it out. The manual is light on documentation for a first time user. A great FAQ would be nice. But It has a nice feature for dry firing. It can go on your wrist and pickup the hammer drop. He has 4 timers, but said for a first one for someone looking to compete, he recommended this mini-unit. Great customer support also from the one time I called to get started. Walsh |

All you need. Rich ETA: I've had mine for over 10 years and it's been used (not abused) heavily during that time frame. Price is right, it's a VERY common timer to use at the club level (and they really abuse them) and they just keep on tickin'. |

I have the Pact club timer. Over 10 years old and works great. Nice loud beep, will te very long strings and will count shots
The pocket pro is good too. I hate the ced timer. |

I use a CED7000 as well. I agree that the documentation leaves a bit to be desired, but once you figure it out it's great.

I've been happy with my Pocket Pro 2. And it's on sale.
There is also a tan version. If you go in for that thing... most people here do... |

All timers operate basically the same, especially the "basic" models recommended above. The more complex ones (CED 7000, et. al.) have more features, but operation is really straight forward.
Basic features: - Time: Overall, splits, split times - Start: Immediate and random - Review: Splits and time to specific split - # of shots fired That's about it (although I feel like I missed something). Rich |
