am looking to buy some steel for my local range, what size targets are appropriate for 200,, 300, 400 500 yds    this range sees everyone from swat to elmer fudd thanks

Typically I try to go with a three - five MOA target at whatever distance I'm shooting at, unless I'm trying to do something very specific. Style varies, I've set up round, square, rectangular and IPSC torso style targets.


At 200 I'd go with 10 inches, either round or a 1/3 size IPSC.
300 probably a 12" round
400 probably another 12" round
500 full size IPSC

If this is a public range, go with 1/2" AR500 unless you want to go big and get 1" AR500 BMG targets.
