Anyone use a Sub 2000 9mm for steel challenge & USPSA?

I have little experience with sub 2000's. Is this a bad idea?

Its a good idea.

Slap a decent red dot on it and roll

Mounts can be a little weird on the first gen guns. The second gens have a rail on the handguard which I haven't used yet but would probably work fine for the shooting you are talking about

Mine are rough but reliable. Some of the mount/optic combos don't allow it to be folded if you care about that.

They are blowback, right?

Is the trigger any good? If not can it be worked?

Yes on blowback

Trigger is pretty shitty but some people mess with them to make them better. I haven't changed mine so I can't speak to that. I think a lot of people just change the hammer spring or something similar but I am not sure..
