I made sharpshooter in IDPA ssp class with the glock. Only took about four years. Thought as a goal I would try to make sharpshooter in CDP. My 1911 mags are becoming problematic. Really need the 8 rounders for IDPA. What are the hive's favorite brand of 1911 45acp mags? I am using a Taurus PT1911. It has been the best shooting 1911 I have ever owned, but the mags seem to be wearing out. My others are just grab bag GI's and whatnot.

I used Wilson 47 for years, with Wolff upgrade springs as Wilson's stock springs are crap. Currently using metalform elites that I got deal on from CDNN.

Chip
tripp
Wilson etm

are all good quailty mags.

You may just need some replacment springs from Wolff.

I use CM's of different types and a couple of generic mags with 8 round CM conversions. All work flawlessly with my STI.

Wilson 47D are great. You should own one or two. But Chip McCormick'1 8 rounders are often 1/2 the price and work great as range mags.

I found the ACT mags pretty reliable.  But for competition I use Wilsons and McCormicks.

I use the fancy coated metalforms from brownells for USPSA.  So far 100% reliable and they look slick.  Cheap too.
