I own a GLOCK 17L and a GLOCK 24 and I have been wanting to get into some pistol sports along with three gun. Can I use them in any of the shooting sports?

The 17L and 24 are NOT approved for USPSA Production division but, are OK for Limited, Limited 10 and Open divisions.

I believe they are both slightly too long to be legal for IDPA.  IDPA has a box that the pistol must fit into to be legal, and it is 22.22cm long.  The 17L and 24 are a bit more than that IIRC.

I actually believe that is why Glock introduced the 34 and 35 models, to have longslide variants that would be legal for the popular gun games.

For IPSC they are good for Standard and Open divisions.
But a no-go for Production.
