THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I thought I saw something about where "L" model glocks were not allowed, I believe this is the equivalent of the L's. I was really hoping to start competing with this handgun but if not allowed, it looks like I'll have to look for something else. Please excuse my ignorance on this, I have looked around on the USPSA site and I'm still not familiar enough to know my way around it yet. |

You cannot shoot it in production -
But I think (not really sure) they should be ok for limited or open |

Limited, Limited 10, or open.
One of the limited divisions would probably be the best fit |

Limited is a great division to learn the ropes in. Very few equipment restrictions and you can load up your magazines(unlike production)
No red dots/scopes No compensators Mags cant exceed 140mm Holsters, mag pouches, gun modifications are mostly all good to go. Load your mags up and go have fun |

Shoot the G24 in limited. Don't get a G35 for production you'll be shooting a 40 against everyone else shooting 9 since everyone in production is scored minor.
If you decide that the G24 in limited us for you think about these upgrades. Mag extentions to bring you mags to 140mm. Taylor freelance or dawson precision. Do this first Oversize magwell. Dawson or any number of others Sights personal preferance Dawson or warren seem to be the most popular Then the trigger. You can spend a lot on this, but I haven't messed with mine at all. A stock G34 trigger isn't that bad. |

You really want to stick with 40 if you are going to shoot USPSA limited. Major power factor scoring is a huge advantage and it is why almost everyone at the top shoots major if their division allows for it. If you want you can try reduced loads, but be sure that it makes 165PF if you declare it. Major = (bullet weight in grains * velocity in FPS) / 1000
9mm is what you want if you're shooting production, but the gun must be on the production gun list(G24 isn't). Also conversion barrels are not allowed. Production is probably the second most restrictive division behind single stack. ETA: if you are just shooting for fun at the local level go for the conversion barrel if you want to save some money on ammo. You'll be shooting minor, but if you hit A's fast it doesn't matter. |

Thanks. That explains a lot! Going into this I never would have guessed there were so many different classifications. From your last post it sounds like shooting in limited with my G24 is just what I was after. Funny how things just seem to work out.
Now if I could just get all the different scoring into my head. ![]() |

Show up and shoot and dont worry about it. I have been shooting for years and dont fully understand the scoring. Unless you plan to become a super gamer dont worry about it. For the record we are talking about divisions not classes. Class is your rank as a shooter and division applies to your equipment. |

+1
The only thing you need to know about scoring is it is best to shoot the middle of the target with two rounds as fast as you can, avoid the white paper targets, and missing is bad. I enjoy the game more when I understand the rules and how it is scored, if you are same check out This video it's 41 min long, so it might be faster to just read the rule book. It did help me a lot. |
