Morning, I've always wanted to compete in service rifle matches, but never had the time. When I was stationed on Kodiak island, they had a great range and matches, but I never got into it. Now I'm stationed at South Padre Isl Texas and live in Harlingen. I've got a RRA NMA4, reloading quite a bit and have some time to get into it. Anyone know of ranges and service rifle matches going on in my region? Any info would be greatly appreciated, my set up. Tks Billy" />

I'm attending their range meeting on the 9th. Really tight club, 600 yards. I'll start their. I'm confused on all the matches and requirements.

I understand the course of fire, just that there's so many different matches, and abbreviation, military matches, don't know if my range is affiliated with cmp. I'll have to ask. Guess I'll get a lot of those questions answered at the first meeting.

If you could make the drive, check out Bayou Rifles near Pearland, TX just south of Houston.
They have something going almost every weekend for highpower, and the TSRA matches are held there.
They have one of the few 1K KD ranges accessible to civilians in TX.
