A Pelican 1700 will hold a carbine and a pistol. Pack your empty mags in with your regular luggage.

I ended up buying a Storm iM3100 case, which is pretty much the same as the 1700.

While pelican is nice, there is absolutely no friggin way I'd pay what they ask. I ended up picking one of these and it's been great!
amazon link Has its own internal locks which the TSA didn't have a prob with and also spots to add your own locks. I was able to fit my AR, 10 mags, glock 17, and pvs 14's. |

Is the procedure to buy the generic cases and then cut the middle layer of foam to suit your rifle?

I'm going to cut my foam tonight, hopefully, in order to get all my stuff ready for this weekend's CSAT course. I am soo looking forward to meeting Paul and doing this course.
